Search Warrant at Asheboro Apartment finds Drugs, One Arrested

Summers Run Apartments - Archive Photo / PJ WARD-BROWN/NORTH STATE JOURNAL ASHEBORO N.C. - The Asheboro Police Department's VICE/Narcotics unit served a search warrant at an Asheboro apartment complex late last month that located a large amount of drugs and led to the arrest of a suspect. According to a police report from the department, on June 28th, 2023, the VICE/Narcotics along with members of the Special Enforcment Team executed a search warrant at Summer Run apartments located at 2159 N. Fayetteville St. That search led to police seizing 145 grams of cocaine, US Currency, and drug paraphernalia. Police say they arrested Tevin Maurice Gray and charged him with multiple drug related charges. As of the time of this article Gray remains confined at the Randolph County Jail....

DOT, Gold Hill Road is closed between Randolph Tabernacle Road and East Presnell Street and may remain closed until 5 PM. Emergency crews are on the scene of a serious vehicle accident reportedly involving a single vehicle. As this is still an active incident no further information is available currently. RANDLEMAN N.C. - Officials are saying that no one was injured during an early morning house fire in Randleman. Just after midnight on July 5th, 2023, Fire crews from Randleman, Sophia, Level Cross, and Westside Fire Departments were dispatched along with Randolph County EMS to a report of a house fire on Allred Way. Crews arrived to find a home nearly fully involved. Fire crews responded to a fully involved house fire on Allred Way in Randleman early in the morning hours of July 5th, 2023. ASHEBORO N.C. - Monday morning police responded to several break-ins of vehicles at a north Asheboro apartment complex including a stolen vehicle which led to a vehicle pursuit into Greensboro. If all that sounds familiar it's because the same thing happened late last year at and near the same apartment complex. Early Monday morning, just before 3am, officers with the Asheboro Police Department say they were responding to a report of a stolen vehicle at Mathew Grande Apartments, on N. On June 24, 2023, at 11:23 PM, officers with the Asheboro Police Department responded to a report of gunshots fired in the 800 block of Salem Court. Randolph County 911 advised responding officers that multiple people had been shot. Three victims were found at the scene and transported by EMS to a local medical facility. An additional victim arrived at the facility after being transported by personal vehicle. ASHEBORO N.C. - Police are looking for a wanted suspect who allegedly stole internet and telephone lines then fled from police earlier this week on Zoo Parkway. On June 20th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Zoo Parkway, in Asheboro, after being notified of a suspicious vehicle in the area. RANDLEMAN N.C. - Two people were arrested earlier this week on felony drug charges following a search warrant at a Randleman home. On June 21st, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Division concluded an investigation related to the distribution of narcotics in Randolph County. Detectives, assisted by the Criminal Interdiction Team and Randleman Police Department, executed a search warrant at a residence located on Worthville St. in Randleman. On June 15, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary in the Seagrove area where a business had been entered and property was taken. According to the Sheriff's Office, Detectives arrived on scene and were able to locate evidence, which led them to a residence on Borough Ave, in Seagrove. ASHEBORO N.C. - A suspect in a stolen vehicle who led police on a brief chase last weekend found out making it to the front porch is not home base and was arrested. On June 18th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to High Pine Church Rd, in Asheboro, for a report of a stolen vehicle. A 911 caller was the victim and was following the stolen vehicle, providing police with a direction of travel. ASHEBORO N.C. - A man who had the police called on him for banging on the doors of a closed business asked police for a ride and was arrested when police say they located drugs on him. On June 18th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Spanish Ln., in Asheboro, after a caller reported a male was banging on the doors of the business even though it was after hours, and they were closed. Deputies didn’t locate the male on the property but canvassed the area for the suspect, locating him on US Hwy 220 S. sitting on the ground.
