One Killed, Three Seriously Injured After Head-On Crash in Trinity

ASHEBORO N.C. - A fatal head-on crash on Finch Farm Road in Trinity last night claimed the life of an 18-year-old and sent three others to the hospital with serious injuries. At 9:10 p.m. on Monday, August 29th, 2022, the State Highway Patrol responded to the report of a crash that occurred on Finch Farm Road near Saddle Club Drive in Randolph County. According to a press release from the North Carolina Highway Patrol, 18-year-old Emily Jane McAllister of Trinity, was traveling north on Finch Farm Road in a 2004 Acura TSX when she traveled left of center and struck a Ford Escape traveling in the opposite direction head-on. Man Suspected of Stealing 1,000 Gallons of Gas Charged by RCSO

ASHEBORO N.C. - A man from Bunnlevel is facing multiple felony charges after being charged with stealing 1,000 gallons of gasoline from a local gas station. On July 9, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Handy Hugo gas station on Hwy 64 East in Asheboro in reference to a possible larceny/theft of fuel in progress. According to a press release, when deputies arrived, they noticed a white Chevrolet truck with a work bed sitting in theparking lot of the gas station over the underground fuel tanks. Sheriff’s Office Seeking Information on Suspect in Dollar General Robbery

ASHEBORO N.C. - The Randolph County Sheriff's Office is asking for help identifying a suspect involved in a robbery of the Coleridge Dollar General earlier this week. On August 14, 2022, at approximately 9:15 pm, an armed robbery occurred at the Dollar Generallocated at 4448 NC HWY 22 S., in Ramseur which is located in the Coleridge area. Two Juveniles Found Occupying Stolen Car After Vehicle Chase

According to a police report from the Asheboro Police Department on Aug 9th 2022, just after 2am in the morning, an officer attempted to pull over on S Fayetteville St near Lanier Ave. Police say that vehicle was reported stolen and linked to an attempted vehicle left. A brief chase through the back streets of Asheboro occurred and when the vehicle was stopped officers found two juveniles in the car. According to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office, at approximately 5:00 pm deputies responded to awelfare check on Cable Creek Rd., in Asheboro. A press release says when deputies arrived a male subject exited the residence with a firearm before retreating into the residence, then fleeing out the back on foot, still armed. At around 2:39 am this morning the Asheboro Fire Department was dispatched to a home on S Main St near Maraduke Cir, after 911 callers reported flames shooting from the roof of a home. ASHEBORO N.C. - Police are working to understand what led to a shooting last night in Asheboro that left a local man shot in the foot. On August 5th, 2022, at approximately 2am, patrol officers with the Asheboro Police Department were dispatched to a mobile home on Walnut Street, in reference to a gunshot wound. Now, we are hearing from current and former employees of that chain of stores who say they have been bringing up worker safety concerns for months. Laura Whitman was a graduate of Randleman High School. At 53-years-old she had worked at several local gas stations in Randolph County, but on the night of June 25th, 2022, Whitman was working at the Quik Chek in Star, NC. Around an hour before closing, and on one of her first shifts at the location, Whitman was shot to death by a robbery suspect.
