3 Arrests Following Multi-Agency Operation Into Child Pornography Cybertips

(Stock photo via Adobe Stock) ASHEBORO N.C. - During National Child Abuse Awareness Month the Randolph County Sheriff's Office worked with local, state, and federal agencies for a special joint operation investigating cybertips traced to locations within Randolph County. According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office on April 13th and 14th, 2022, the agencies Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Team conducted Operation "I See You", focusing on child pornography cybertips, to determine the validity of just over 100 pending tips by conducting interviews, computer examinations, cell phone data extractions, and analyzing evidence. ASHEBORO N.C. - A woman is facing additional charges after she pepper sprayed an officer while being arrested on an outstanding warrant. On April 14, 2022, Asheboro Police Department arrested Kristi Jo Moss Hodge on multiple outstanding warrants and orders for arrest. Officers located evidence during the arrest that linked Hodge to an April 12th vehicle theft in Ramseur that the Randolph County Sheriff's Office was investigating. According to an official with the Asheboro Police Department, shortly after Hodge was placed into handcuffs she was able to slip her hand out of one of the cuffs and retrieve a pepper spray container from her bra area. According to a press release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on April 15th, 2022, at around 8 am, deputies were dispatched to Millboro Rd in Franklinville for a call about a suspicious person. The caller told police that a male and female were on the front porch and they looked like the subjects that had been associated with an assault and carjacking in the New Bern area of Craven County. ASHEBORO N.C. - A local man was arrested Sunday after police responded to a call about shots fired at the Randolph Inn in Asheboro. According to a press release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on April 10th, 2022, police were dispatched to the area of Albemarle Rd after 911 caller reported someone was firing a gun. Units with the Asheboro Police Department arrived first at the Randolph Inn also responded. Police say they witnessed subjects fighting in the parking lot. ASHEBORO N.C. - An investigation into fentanyl by the Randolph County Sheriff's Office resulted to a multi-agency drug investigation leading to a Randolph County man facing felony trafficking charges. According to a press release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on April 1st, 2022, the Criminal Interdiction Team conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that police say was operated by Jarvis James Siler. During a search of that vehicle the Sheriff's Office says they found a trafficking amount of Fentanyl and MDMA (the active ingredient in Ecstasy) was seized. ASHEBORO N.C. - Four individuals are facing a total of 69 felony charges following an investigation into a theft-ring stealing catalytic converters and copper in northwestern Randolph County. After being rescheduled from earlier this month, the Randolph County Sheriff's Office held a press conference on April 1st 2022, where they revealed they had been involved in a multi-week investigation into what they called a "theft-ring" operating in the Trinity, Archdale, Thomasville, and High Point areas.
