Vehicle Chase Ends After Car Gets Stuck, 2 Arrested

(Scott Pelkey / Acme News Archive) ASHEBORO N.C. - Two people were arrested last Friday after they had to bail out of their vehicle which had become disabled during a vehicle pursuit. According to a press release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on March 4th, 2022, a deputy tried to pull over a vehicle near Howard Mill Rd and Bennett Rd. Police say the driver sped up and led police on a short vehicle chase that ended when the driver turned on to Waddell's Ferry Rd. and ended up on the dirt and gravel portion of the road near the Deep River when the vehicle became disabled. The driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot but was apprehended. He was identified by police as Tommy Colon Hussey, who was wanted for multiple warrants and orders for arrest through multiple agencies...

Man Who Fled From Traffic Stop Arrested in Connection to Multiple Vehicle Break-Ins At Apartment

On March 1st 2022, just before midnight an officer with the Asheboro Police Department responded to the Madison Heights apartments on N Fayetteville Street after getting a call about a burglary in progress. According to a police report the arriving officer spoke with a resident at the apartments who had heard multiple car alarms going off and saw an unidentified male inside of his vehicle. Despite Warnings Of High Fire Danger, Crews Called To Six Out-of-Control Fires Yesterday

Fire crews from several departments responded to an out of control fire on Pine Lakes Dr that threatened two homes. ASHEBORO N.C. - Despite warnings from the North Carolina Forest Service of a High fire danger yesterday, fire crews across the county responded to at least six out of control fires. Yesterday the North Carolina Forest Service warned of an increased fire danger resulting from warm and dry conditions with low humidity and winds of 10 to 15 mph that were gusting as high as 20 and 25 mph. Their warning said that outdoor burning was highly discouraged, but did not go as far as banning outdoor burning. VICE Conducts Search Warrant, Finds Drugs & Guns at Asheboro Home

ASHEBORO N.C. - The Asheboro Police Department VICE/ Narcotics unit conducted a search warrant at the home of a man on house arrest in Asheboro where they say they found drugs and guns. On Feb 8th 2022, the VICE/Narcotics unit along with the Special Enforcement Team of the Asheboro Police Department executed a search warrant at a home on Lakeview Rd. Police had obtained a search warrant for the home as well as for Jamie Edward York and Laura Elizabeth Dawson. Man Arrested After Police Say He Traveled To Ramseur To Buy Sex From Minor

ASHEBORO N.C. - Police arrested a man after they say he traveled to Ramseur to meet a juvenile with the intent to trade money for sex. On February 24, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Team took a report of child sexual solicitation. In a press release they identified the perpetrator as Timothy James Norton of Siler City, NC. Wanted Suspect Arrested After Chase, Crashing Into Camper, Fleeing Arrest

ASHEBORO N.C. - A wanted suspect who led police on a vehicle chase near Ramseur in which they crashed into a camper before getting away was arrested by the Criminal Apprehension Team this week. On February 3, 2022, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Deputy on patrol saw a vehicle at a gas station outside of Ramseur that they knew was driven by Randall Ray Burgess, who had outstanding Orders for Arrest. ASHEBORO N.C. - The Randolph County Sheriff's Office announced they have recently charged three individuals with sex offenses involving minors. Juan Jose Figueroa Jimenez Juan Jose Figueroa Jimenez was charged with felony crimes against nature and three counts of felony indecent liberties with a child after the Sheriff's Office received information about sexual offenses on December 15, 2021 that led them to start an investigation.
