ASHEBORO N.C. - A local man who fled from house arrest almost a year ago, led Police in Asheboro on a foot chase before being arrested last week.  Jordan Lamar Billings placed on EHA with Randolph County Sheriff’s Office on July 29th, 2021, for multiple charges. According to a press release on December 7th, 2021, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Electronic House Arrest (EHA) Officers received information that Billings monitoring device was not charged, leading them to discover that Billings had let the bracelet go dead, cut it off, and left it in a mailbox.  The Sheriff’s Office obtained an Order for Arrest for Billings for Violation of Pre-Trial Conditions of Release/EHA. ASHEBORO N.C. - Two children are safe after Asheboro Police issued an Amber Alert for a suspected kidnapping earlier tonight. On October 30th, 2022, at approximately 3:26 PM, officers with the Asheboro Police Department responded a residence on Occoneechee Avenue, after a caller reported a kidnapping. According to a press release from Asheboro Police, officers responded and spoke to the complainant, who stated that her two year-old son, DeShawn Devonne Williams, and her four year-old daughter, Londyn Renee Williams, had been taken by their father and uncle. ASHEBORO N.C. - Earlier this week the Randolph County Sheriff's Office announced that a search warrant in Asheboro found drugs, cash, and a firearm. According to a press release, on October 26, 2022, the Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Division, along with the Criminal Interdiction Team and the Asheboro Police Department, executed a search warrant at a residence located on Walnut St. in Asheboro. ASHEBORO N.C. - Police arrested a man last night after they we called to a local motel for a stabbing. On September 21st, 2022, just after 7:30 pm, the Asheboro Police Department were called to 827 Albemarle Road in reference to a stabbing.  According to officials with the police department, when officers arrived, they spoke with the victim who reported he had been assaulted. The officer noted wounds to the victim's head however they refused to be transported by EMS. Asheboro Fire Department (via Facebook) ASHEBORO N.C. - No one was injured in a late-night fire at the Asheboro Pizza Hut. According to a press release from the Asheboro Fire Department this morning, Fire and Rescue crews from the department's A-shift were dispatched to a commercial fire at the Pizza Hut on E Dixie Dr at around 11:30 pm. "Crews arrived on scene to find heavy smoke showing. Crews conducted a search to verify the building was not occupied. According to a police report from the Asheboro Police Department on Aug 9th 2022, just after 2am in the morning, an officer attempted to pull over on S Fayetteville St near Lanier Ave. Police say that vehicle was reported stolen and linked to an attempted vehicle left. A brief chase through the back streets of Asheboro occurred and when the vehicle was stopped officers found two juveniles in the car. On August 5th, 2022, at approximately 2am, patrol officers with the Asheboro Police Department were dispatched to a mobile home on Walnut Street, in reference to a gunshot wound.
