Driver Charged After Hitting 2 Signs and a Convenience Store Last Week
ASHEBORO N.C. - A driver is facing a laundry list of charges after police say they found her barely breathing behind the wheel of an SUV last week, after she struck 2 street signs and part of a convenience store on Sunset Ave.
According to police reports from the Asheboro Police Department on Wednesday July 13th just before 3:30am, officers responded to 509 Sunset Ave in Asheboro for a report of a suspicious vehicle.
When officers arrived they say they located a gray SUV running, with its lights next to a dumpster in a grassy area next the the Quik Chek. Officers noted seeing a pillar from the front awning of the business that had been hit and knocked over by the vehicle. Video shared to Facebook shows the moment of impact.
