SEAGROVE N.C. - One person has been arrested in connection with the burglary of a business in Seagrove. On June 15, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary in the Seagrove area where a business had been entered and property was taken. According to the Sheriff's Office, Detectives arrived on scene and were able to locate evidence, which led them to a residence on Borough Ave, in Seagrove. With the assistance of the Seagrove Police Department, Detectives approached the residence and spoke with the occupants which led to a search. That search found evidence of the burglary as well as the stolen property from the business. ASHEBORO N.C. - Four suspects who were found in a vacant home in Archdale were arrested last weekend and charged with breaking and entering. On April 29th, 2023, Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress on Zelma Blvd., in Archdale. According to information released by the Randolph County Sheriff's Office, when deputies arrived, they located and detained four suspects who were inside the residence. When deputies contacted the property owner, they advised they were in the process of removing the home and that no one should be inside. ASHEBORO N.C. - Last month the Randolph County Sheriff's Office investigated eight vehicle thefts, which makes up almost half of the vehicle thefts reported in 2023 and data is already showing a spike in theft related calls this month. The crime dashboard maintained on the Sheriff's Office website shows that so far this year 18 motor vehicle thefts have been or are being investigated, eight of those occurred in March. To avoid being the victim of a vehicle theft the Sheriff's Office recommends the following advice: Lock your doors every time you leave your vehicle and take your keys. ASHEBORO N.C. - Sheriff's deputies responding to a burglary of a vehicle ended up on a manhunt today that captured one suspect while another remains on the loose. Earlier today, April 3, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says they were called to Cameron Dr, in Asheboro, for a report of a burglary of a vehicle. Of those thousands of calls, the most recorded call type at 11% (14,089) were 9-1-1 hang-up, misdials, or open lines (aka butt-dials), followed by 11,186 calls (8.7%) which were marked as duplicate calls where several people called in to report the same incident. Theft was responsible for the largest number of 9-1-1 calls reporting crime in 2022 (when larceny and burglaries are combined) with a total of 4,145 or 3.2% of all calls. ASHEBORO N.C. - The Sheriff's Office says a local homeowner called to report a burglary after he arrived home to find a man wearing only a blanket trying to steal their ATV. On July 25th, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Driftwood Dr., in Archdale, after receiving a call about a burglary in progress. According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, when the victim returned home along with finding his dogs had been let out and his ATV was missing from his carport, he also noticed a man in the woods without any clothing on. On April 18, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to McNeal St, in Asheboro for a report of a burglary in progress. Deputies say when they arrived the victim reported they arrived home to find a female inside the master bedroom of the home. ASHEBORO N.C. — Following a call about a burglary in progress police managed to arrest one suspect, are still looking for a second, and recovered almost a pound and a half of marijuana, leading to a puzzling question. According to the Asheboro Police Department on Dec 7th 2021, Officer Auman was dispatched to the Park Place II Apartments on South Church Street in reference to a burglary in progress. A police report says that when he arrived he saw two males at the top of the stairway in front of apartment in question and when the suspects saw Officer Auman they ran down the stairs and began to flee towards the back of the building.
