Firefighters Respond to Smoke at Asheboro Dollar General

Photo courtesy - Dollar General, Corporate (Newsroom) ASHEBORO N.C. - No one was injured after smoke inside an Asheboro Dollar General resulted in a commercial fire response overnight. On the evening of November 15th, 2023, the Asheboro Fire and Rescue Department (AFRD) responded to a report of a possible commercial fire at the Dollar General, located at 1450 Zoo Parkway. Fire crews were dispatched at 8:38 p.m., and the first unit arrived on scene at 8:42 p.m. to find light smoke in the store. The business had been evacuated before the AFRD's arrival and it was determined that the source of the smoke was a malfunctioning freezer. Bomb Threat Closes Ramseur Dollar General Early

Photo provided by Dollar General RAMSEUR N.C. - Earlier this week a bomb threat closed the Dollar General in Ramseur early and now police are asking anyone with information to contact them. On July 10th, 2023, Ramsuer Police and first responders were dispatched to the Dollar General Store located at 6493 Jordan Rd. According to police, an unknown subject called into the store requesting to speak with the manager who they told there was a bomb in a specific area of the store. Employees evacuated the store and called 911. Multiple searches of the store were conducted by officers and nothing suspicious was located. The business closed early due to the incident. Anyone who has any information regarding this incident is asked to contact Sgt Cox or Detective Zogopoulos.

Sheriff’s Office Seeking Information on Suspect in Dollar General Robbery

ASHEBORO N.C. - The Randolph County Sheriff's Office is asking for help identifying a suspect involved in a robbery of the Coleridge Dollar General earlier this week. On August 14, 2022, at approximately 9:15 pm, an armed robbery occurred at the Dollar Generallocated at 4448 NC HWY 22 S., in Ramseur which is located in the Coleridge area. Surveillance video shows a male enter the business at approximately 9:15 pm wearing black pants, tan in color boots, black jacket with white lettering near the left side, a black face mask, and blue in color hood. Suspect Charged In Connection To Armed Robbery Of Randleman Dollar General

Photo Courtesy Dollar General Corporate ASHEBORO N.C. - A joint investigation between the Asheboro Police Department, Randolph County Sheriff's Office and Guilford County Sheriff's office led to a suspect being arrested in connection with a string of armed robberies, including an armed robbery of the Randleman Dollar General. On February 15, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Dollar General on South Main Street in Randleman for an armed robbery. At the scene they collected evidence including using the description of the suspect and his vehicle provided by a 911 caller to issue a BOLO to all area law enforcement agencies.
