ASHEBORO N.C. - The victim of a theft in Asheboro back in November of 2022, located a suspect who had allegedly stolen property on Facebook Marketplace, but the suspect wasn't charged in Randolph County until last week because he kept getting arrested in other counties. On November 10th, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to US 220 Bus. S., in Asheboro, for a report of a larceny. The victim reported an unknown white male entered the property and drove to the rear of the business during the early morning hours and stole items. Surveillance footage was captured of the vehicle which included the license plate, according to a press release from the Sheriff's Office. ASHEBORO N.C. - Two people have been arrested and charged in connection with an April vehicle chase in Trinity. On April 22, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says their deputies were involved in a vehicle chase and manhunt in Trinty. According to a press release, deputies initiated a traffic stop on Finch Farm Rd., in Trinity. The vehicle failed to pull over and began swearing on and off the I-85 South ramp before heading onto the Interstate, At one point the deputy leading the chase says they observed the passenger, later identified as Kendall Taylor Rogers, and driver, later identified as Ethan Bradford Chambers, change seats. Arts Splash has occurred for over 20 years and the High Point Arts Council is proud to continue to hire local musicians for free community concerts from June through August. ASHEBORO N.C. - An investigation into fentanyl by the Randolph County Sheriff's Office resulted to a multi-agency drug investigation leading to a Randolph County man facing felony trafficking charges. According to a press release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on April 1st, 2022, the Criminal Interdiction Team conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that police say was operated by Jarvis James Siler. During a search of that vehicle the Sheriff's Office says they found a trafficking amount of Fentanyl and MDMA (the active ingredient in Ecstasy) was seized. According to a press release by the High Point Police Department on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at approximately 4:54 PM, High Point officers came in contact with a delivery driver for Domino's Pizza who reported he had been robbed by five male suspects while he was making a delivery to a house at 633 Paramount St. According to police that house was recently vacated. ASHEBORO NC - It seems Randolph County was spared the worst of yesterday's storms, but just barely. The National Weather Service in Raleigh confirmed that 2 tornadoes touched down in the Triad yesterday. The closest an EF-0 which struck High Point, just a few miles over the county line. Following yesterday's storms, the National Weather Service in Raleigh sent survey teams to look over the damage to determine if radar indicated rotation and reports of funnel clouds was actually a tornado that touched down. HIGH POINT The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-0 tornado touched down in High Point for around 5 minutes with winds of 85 MPH for a distance of approximately 1 mile.
