ASHEBORO NC - A pair of individuals were arrested after police say they stole a trailer and sold it on Facebook, all because the buyers friend was suspicious. According to the Sheriff's Office, on October 25th, 2021,they responded to Creeks Crossing Rd. after getting a call from a citizen who had become suspicious that a utility trailer he had purchased may be stolen. The buyer told officers that Brandon Edward Fields had messaged him earlier in the day saying that he had a trailer he had acquired as pay for work that he wanted to sell. The victim told police he met Fields and another subjects and bought the trailer. ASHEBORO NC - The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public's help in identifying two suspects in a daylight theft of a generator from a local business. On June 23, 2021, the Sheriff’s Office responded to James River Equipment on US HWY 64 E for a call about larceny. A white male had entered the store, picked up a Honda generator, then ran out of the business with it, before getting into a tan or gold hatchback / Chevrolet Equinox. That vehicle fled the parking lot and made a left onto US 64 and then another left on Presnell St. A white female was seen in the front passenger seat and a handicap placard was hanging from the rearview mirror. ASHEBORO NC - An Asheboro man is facing a long list of charges after a traffic stop for a possible DUI where police say they found evidence connecting him to several other crimes in the stolen car he was driving.  According to a press release by the Randolph County Sherriff's Office on May 23, 2021, shortly after midnight, the deputies responded to Oakland Ave in Asheboro after receiving a call about a breaking/entering that had occurred earlier. The deputies met with the victim who gave them a list of missing items which included several banking cards. Later that night at around 4:00 am, deputies were asked to assist the North Carolina Highway Patrol on a traffic stop. Troopers had stopped a driver for a possible DUI on I-73/74. ASHEBORO NC (RCSO) [ARCHIVED] - On January 5, 2021, Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Detectives went to the residence of Julian Glenn Cross following a lead on several breaking and enterings and larcenies.  When the detectives arrived at the house they located several items in plain view they believed to be stolen.  Cross was arrested for an outstanding warrant for a larceny that occurred in September on Plott Hound Trail in Sophia, for Misdemeanor Larceny and Possession of Stolen Goods.    Julian Glenn Cross During the arrest, Cross was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, heroin and drug paraphernalia.  Cross was then transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was taken before the magistrate and charged with Felony Possess...
