ASHEBORO N.C. - After a 4 day holiday weekend with mostly great weather mother nature is back with some summer weather including storms, excessive, rain, and heat. Forecasters with the National Weather Service in Raleigh have issued a Hazardous weather outlook for central North Carolina, with a storms, excessive rainfall, and heat all forecasted for Wednesday and Thursday. This evening there is a Marginal Risk of severe weather across portions of central NC. Tropical Storm Colin Forms Off SC Coast | NWS: Minor Impacts For NC

ASHEBORO N.C. - Those who made the trip down to Myrtle Beach for the holiday weekend are dealing with bands of rain and strong wind gusts after Tropical Storm Colin formed over South Carolina early this morning. At 11am the National Hurricane Center in Florida issued a Tropical Storm Warning for portions of the NC and SC coast. ( A Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected somewhere within the warning area within 36 hours.) (sima / Adobe Stock) ASHEBORO N.C. — After a week and a half of unusually warm temperatures that had many of us were checking our calendar to make sure it said December, temperatures are set to plunge Sunday night with even a possible chance to see some snow Monday morning. According to a forecast from the National Weather Service in Raleigh, Sunday highs are expected to be around 69° F with lows Sunday night plunging down to 32° F. Monday forecasters are calling for a 30% chance of rain and/or snow followed by sunny conditions with a high of 45° F. ASHEBORO NC - Tuesday and Wednesday are setting up to be a wet one, thanks to Tropical Storm Fred who’s heading our way. What remains of Tropical Storm Fred will slowly move through the southeastern part of NC on Tuesday. Fred will bring with it heavy rains up in the mountains, but in the Piedmont we are only expecting a few scattered showers and thunderstorms. Rain and winds may be heavy at times with some possibility of localized severe storms and flooding. Again on Wednesday, the remnants of Fred will keep moving slowly to the northeast as the storms clear out of the area late on Wednesday. Updated Forecast – Severe Icing Targets Randolph County

ASHEBORO NC - The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Randolph County, set to begin at midnight on Wednesday through 7 AM on Friday. At 3 AM on Wednesday morning meteorologist adjusted the forecast, originally areas north of US HWY-64 in Randolph county were the only forecast for a glaze to 0.10" of ice. The updated forecast is now calling for 0.25 to 0.50" of ice accumulation across Randolph county likely resulting in downed trees and power outages and making "travel nearly impossible."
