Charles Vernon Herbert ASHEBORO NC (RCSO) [ARCHIVED] - On January 13, 2021, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Division concluded an investigation related to the distribution of Cocaine in the Liberty area. Detectives, along with the assistance of the Randolph County Emergency Response Team and Liberty Police Department, executed a search warrant on S. Murphy St, the residence of Charles Vernon Herbert. During the search, Detectives located and seized a Trafficking amount of Cocaine, items of drug paraphernalia and US Currency. John Allen Harrington  ASHEBORO NC (RCSO) [ARCHIVED] - On January 10, 2020, while the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office was patrolling the Tobacco Road and Old Glenola Road area of Trinity, deputies located a male subject in the middle of the roadway, walking out in front of traffic. Upon investigation, the subject was identified as John Allen Harrington, who had been involved in a single car vehicle accident. His car was located in a wooded area nearby. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, drug paraphernalia and cocaine were located. Harrington was processed for the driving while impaired by the North Carolina Highway Patrol. Sheriffs Office Arrest Suspect In Connection With Multiple Breaking And Enterings

ASHEBORO NC (RCSO) [ARCHIVED] - On January 5, 2021, Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Detectives went to the residence of Julian Glenn Cross following a lead on several breaking and enterings and larcenies.  When the detectives arrived at the house they located several items in plain view they believed to be stolen.  Cross was arrested for an outstanding warrant for a larceny that occurred in September on Plott Hound Trail in Sophia, for Misdemeanor Larceny and Possession of Stolen Goods.    Julian Glenn Cross During the arrest, Cross was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, heroin and drug paraphernalia.  Cross was then transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was taken before the magistrate and charged with Felony Possess...

Broken Down Car Leads To Foot Chase With Police

ASHEBORO NC (RCSO) - On December 31, 2020, while patrolling the area of Old NC Hwy 13 area of Asheboro, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Deputy observed a vehicle that appeared to be broken down and stopped to render aid. One of the occupants fled from the vehicle on foot and a chase ensued. Additional deputies arrived and detained the other passengers in the vehicle during the investigation. The fleeing suspect was apprehended and identified as Brian Keith Chriscoe who had outstanding warrants for arrest. ASHEBORO NC (RANDOLPH COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE) - On January 1, 2021, at around 12:42 am, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Wright Country Road, Thomasville, in reference to a breaking and entering in progress. Upon arrival, deputies did not locate the suspect but found damage to the property. At approximately 12:46 am, an additional call regarding larceny of a vehicle was reported on Little Creek Drive within sight of the previously reported crime. The victim reported that someone was banging on the back door of the residence and trying to force the door open and subsequently heard his vehicle, a gray in color Honda, start and then watched it drive off at a high rate of speed.
