ASHEBORO N.C. — A Randleman man was arrested on Drug trafficking charges earlier this week. According to a press release from the Randolph County Sheriff's Office, on December 22nd, 2021, their Vice and Narcotics unit working with the Asheboro Police Department concluded an investigation after receiving information about an the distribution of Heroin and Fentanyl in Asheboro.That investigation led detectives to execute a search warrant at the Motel 6 in Asheboro at 827 Albemarle Rd. Police say that search found a "trafficking amount" of Fentanyl was located, along with Alprazolam (a generic form of Xannax), drug paraphernalia and US Currency. ASHEBORO N.C. - A convicted felon on probation was arrested after police say a search of his home found guns, ammo, and drugs. On December 7th, 2021, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office was called to Raymond Gray Lane, in Archdale, to assist NC Probation and Parole in searching the home of Stan Millikan Davis, Jr., a convicted felon on probation for drug charges out of Guilford County. During that search police say they found marijuana, firearms and ammunition. ASHEBORO N.C. - The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man on felony rape charges. According to a press release, on November 23rd, 2021, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a sexual offense. An investigation was started by the Criminal Investigations Division which resulted in charges being sought against Shawn Lee Willard for Felony Second Degree Forcible Rape and Felony Second Degree Forcible Sex Offense. On December 9th, 2021, Willard was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Jail where he was issued a $30,000 total secured bond. ASHEBORO N.C. - A man is in jail without bond today after police say he tried to attack family members with a knife but was subdued by the victims. That's according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office who said in a press release that on December 9th, 2021, deputies responded to Featherstone Ct., in Trinity, in reference to an armed person. Deputies say when they arrived the victims reported the male had attacked them with a kitchen knife, but that they had been able to subdue him until police arrived. Deputies placed the male whom they identified as William Edward Kuntz, under arrest. EMS responded to evaluate and treat Kuntz and the victims for their injuries. ASHEBORO N.C. - A woman has been charged in connection with a house fire back on Sunday in Asheboro. Thats according to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office who in a press release said that on November 28, 2021 they responded to the scene of a house fire at the request of the Fire Marshal Investigator. That investigation, a team effort between the Fire Marshal’s Office and the Criminal Investigations Detectives, determined that Laura Nicole Gunter had intentionally set fire to the home on Staleys Farm Rd., in Asheboro. Gunter was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Jail where the magistrate found probable cause for charge of Felony Fraudulently Burning Dwelling. On October 15, 2021, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) received a tip about Kevin Lee Nunn that said he was receiving and distributing Child Sexual Abuse Material.Deputies along with agents from Homeland Security Investigations executed a search warrant was executed at Nunn’s home on November 5, 2021.The next day charges were sought for ten counts of Second Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. ASHEBORO NC - The Randolph County Sherriff's Office arrested two burglary suspects red handed, one who was stealing from an home as family members hid in a bedroom and another who robbed the same home several times. Raymond Schofield Hyatt On October 16, 2021, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Burglary in Progress on Hawthorne Dr. in Asheboro. The deputies located the suspect still inside the residence. They ordered him to come out and upon leaving the house, the suspect attempted to flee on foot but was quickly arrested. The victims were located un-harmed in a locked bedroom. Deputies found a broken window where they say the the suspect entered the home. ASHEBORO NC – An overdose call Saturday morning led to Liberty Police finding 3 people deceased, 2 more taken to an area and hospital, and a Greensboro man being charged in connection to the deaths. According to a press release from the Liberty Police Department, Liberty Police, Fire and Randolph County EMS were called to Johnson's Mobile Home Park on W Moffitt Ave on Saturday October 16, 2021, after receiving a call about 3 unresponsive persons. When they arrived they found 3 individuals who were deceased and another 2 individuals police described as very ill. Those two persons were treated at Chatham Hospital and later released.
