TRINITY N.C. - A man who fired a gun at a residence after an argument and then lead police on a high-speed pursuit was arrested over the weekend according to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office. On July 23, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Thayer Rd., Trinity, in reference to an armed person who had fired a gun at a residence following an altercation. While deputies were responding, the caller told 9-1-1 the suspect had left and returned. When the deputies arrived, they say they were able to hear voices on the front porch of the residence and as they approached, they heard a passenger car drive off at a high rate of speed south on Thayer Rd. ASHEBORO N.C. - Charges are stacking up against a suspect with several active warrants who fled on foot from deputies and was located hiding in a crawlspace by a police K9. According to a press release, on July 13th, 2023, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Detective in the area of Erect Rd., Seagrove, observed a male subject acting suspicious. Upon the detective pulling into the driveway of the residence the male fled on foot. The detective was advised that the male was James Henry Bolton-McKee, who had active warrants for his arrest. ASHEBORO N.C. - The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office has a arrested a male and charged him with sex crimes involving a minor. According to a press release, on May 28th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a sex offense involving a minor. Following an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, charges were sought against Jonathan Linden Brown for three counts felony indecent liberties with a child, two counts felony statutory sex offense with child <=15, and felony statutory rape of a child under 15 years old. RANDLEMAN N.C. - A search warrant in Randleman located heroin, cash, and a stolen firearm and led to the arrest of one person who is now facing felony drug and gun charges. On July 7th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Unit, assisted by the Criminal Interdiction Team and Randleman Police Department, concluded an investigation relating to the distribution of narcotics in Randolph County. That investigation led to police obtaining a search warrant for a home on E. Naomi Street in Randleman. Detectives say in that home, they located and seized a trafficking amount of Heroin, US Currency, and a firearm which had been reported stolen. The Randolph County Sheriff's Office and Public Library will be presenting programs for citizens about scams/frauds and ways to prevent them and protect yourself when using the internet.   H.E.L.P.S. or Helping Elders Learn to Prevent Scams is an outreach program by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Community Outreach, in conjunction with the Randolph County Public Library System’s Digital Services Librarian. Two sessions have been scheduled for August 16th at the Asheboro Public Library, located at 201 Worth St., Asheboro, at 9 am, and again at 2 pm. ASHEBORO N.C. - Late on Friday night deputies responding to a domestic call found themselves in a short vehicle chase that led to one person being arrested. On July 7th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Kemp Mill Rd., Asheboro, in reference to a violation of a Domestic Violence Protective Order, also known as a 50-B. According to information from the Sheriff's Office, the victim who was returning home saw what they believed to be a vehicle belonging to Robert Mitchell Jenkins on the property. The victim stated they had a 50-B Domestic Violence Protection Order in place and that Jenkins also had an outstanding warrant. The victim left and met with deputies in a nearby parking lot. ASHEBORO N.C. - Police are looking for a wanted suspect who allegedly stole internet and telephone lines then fled from police earlier this week on Zoo Parkway. On June 20th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Zoo Parkway, in Asheboro, after being notified of a suspicious vehicle in the area. On June 21st, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Division concluded an investigation related to the distribution of narcotics in Randolph County. Detectives, assisted by the Criminal Interdiction Team and Randleman Police Department, executed a search warrant at a residence located on Worthville St. in Randleman. SEAGROVE N.C. - One person has been arrested in connection with the burglary of a business in Seagrove. On June 15, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary in the Seagrove area where a business had been entered and property was taken. According to the Sheriff's Office, Detectives arrived on scene and were able to locate evidence, which led them to a residence on Borough Ave, in Seagrove. With the assistance of the Seagrove Police Department, Detectives approached the residence and spoke with the occupants which led to a search. That search found evidence of the burglary as well as the stolen property from the business.
