On June 24, 2023, at 11:23 PM, officers with the Asheboro Police Department responded to a report of gunshots fired in the 800 block of Salem Court. Randolph County 911 advised responding officers that multiple people had been shot. Three victims were found at the scene and transported by EMS to a local medical facility. An additional victim arrived at the facility after being transported by personal vehicle. ASHEBORO N.C. - One person is in jail after Asheboro Police were called to a report of a shooting in an Asheboro neighborhood late Monday night. On April 24th, 2023, at around 10:30 pm, officers responded to a home on Chestnut St for a report of gun shots being heard in the area. While officers were responding Randolph County 911 reported they were taking a call for a possible gunshot wound from the same incident. When officers arrived on scene, they saw a suspect walking next to the roadway holding a handgun in their right-hand walking away from the scene of the shooting. ASHEBORO N.C. - Two people were taken to the hospital overnight after crashing into another car while thier vehicle was being shot at according to police. At around 10:45 pm on April 16th, 2023, officers were called to Coleridge Rd in Asheboro for a report of gunshots fired in the area. While officers were enroute they were advised that multiple shots had been fired at a vehicle which led to it crashing into another vehicle. 911 operators advised one of the callers said they had been shot and were still in the vehicle, according to a police report. ASHEBORO N.C. - On person has been transported to the hospital in serious condition after being shot earlier this afternoon in a neighborhood near Sunset Ave in Asheboro. According to a press release from the Asheboro Police Department, on April 11th, 2023, at 12:58 PM, officers with the Asheboro Police Department responded to the Quick Check at 509 Sunset Avenue in reference to a victim on the sidewalk of the store suffering from a small caliber gunshot wound to the lower torso. Randolph County EMS and Asheboro Fire/Rescue Department responded to the scene and the victim was transported to an out of county medical facility by Randolph County EMS for further medical treatment. ASHEBORO N.C. - A local man is facing criminal charges after the Sheriff's Office says he fired a gun out his car window following an argument. On March 19, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Branson Mill Rd., Randleman, in reference to an armed person. When deputies arrived, the victim told them that Abijah John Lewis II, had driven to his home and an argument ensued in the driveway, according to a press release. Police say as Lewis was backing out of the driveway, he fired a weapon out the driver’s side window. According to information released by the Asheboro Police Department, on March 21st, 2023, just before 8:30 am, officers responded to 1928 Dennis Street in reference to a gunshot/assault. When police arrived on scene they determined the victim, Jareem Xavier McBryde, had been taken to a local medical facility by his girlfriend. MJ Auman, a firefighter with the Seagrove Fire Dept, died of a fatal gunshot wound on June 25th, 2022. An investigation by the Randolph County Sheriff's Office led to charges against the wife Heather Auman who has been confined at the Randolph County Jail without bond, facing a charge of first-degree murder since June 29th, 2022. ASHEBORO N.C. - A driver is facing felony charges after police say while intoxicated, he fired a shot at the victim's car before ramming it several feet. On January 13th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to an incident on US 220business just south of McDowell Road after a caller reported an armed person. Upon arrival, deputies met with the caller who said he had been the victim of a road rage incident where his vehicle was shot at before being rammed by another driver. “Unknown Shooting” Leaves Two Injured in Asheboro

ASHEBORO N.C. - Police are investigating what they are calling an "unknown" shooting in the early hours of the morning that left two injured. On November 28, 2022 at approximately 1:02 am officers with the Asheboro Police Department were dispatched to Bennett Street in reference to an unknown gunshot call for service.  Upon arrival officers located a Hispanic male victim, and a white female victim who sustained wounds as a result of the incident. Police say that both victims were transported to out of county medical facilities for further medical treatment.  The female victim was stabilized, treated, and released.  The status of the Hispanic male victim is unknown at this time.  This is currently an ongoing investigation by the Asheboro Police Depa...
