Grand Jury Indicts Thomasville Woman in Connection with House Fires

Fire Investigator (Acme News Archive) ASHEBORO — A Thomasville woman has turned herself in after being indicted in connection with two house fires that occurred in 2022. According to a press release, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office was called to Jades Way in Thomasville on Aug. 29, 2022, to investigate two separate residential fires at the same location — one that day and another occurring two days earlier on Aug. 27. The Randolph County Fire Marshal’s Office notified the sheriff’s office that the fires were suspicious in nature. The sheriff’s office says following their investigation with the fire marshal’s office, the case was taken to the Randolph County Grand Jury during their March 2024 session. Upon investigation, it was determined that a burglary had not occurred. Methamphetamine and paraphernalia were located in the residence during the investigation. On January 1st, 2024, Randolph County 911 received a 911-hangup call with screaming in the background. After not being able to get an answer on return calls deputies from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area. ASHEBORO N.C. - Last night deputies with the Randolph County Sheriff's Office responded to a fatal stabbing at a home in Thomasville. On March 29, 2022, at around 10:00 pm, the deputies were called to a home on Reddy Foxx Ln. in Thomasville after getting a call about a stabbing. Police say when they arrived the located a man on the porch of the home suffering from stab wounds. The victim, who police identified as Randy Hunt, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The resident, Fred Thomas Dyles, Jr., who was also the one who called 911, identified the victim as his neighbor. Dyles reported that Hunt had attempted to break into his home and he had stabbed him. ASHEBORO N.C. — A convicted felon was arrested yesterday in Thomasville in connection with a November assault where the Sheriff’s Office says the he broke into a home, assaulted the victim, and tied them up. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says in a press release that on November 17th 2021, their deputies were called to a home on Pisgah Covered Bridge Rd. in Asheboro after getting a call from a victim who said they had escaped being tied up at the home. The victim stated they knew the suspect and identified him as Kevin Andrew Blue. According to police Blue broke into the home, assaulted the victim and tied them up.
