ASHEBORO NC – The possibility of strong thunderstorms for Randolph County has prompted the National Weather Service in Raleigh to issues a hazardous weather outlook advisory.
According to meteorologists with the NWS there is a strong likelihood of scattered thunderstorms this afternoon through Saturday night capable of producing damaging straight-line wind gusts and quarter size hail.

Tonight – A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 AM, then a slight chance of showers between 2 AM and 5 AM. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59.
Saturday – Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 5 PM. Partly sunny, with a high near 78. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Saturday Night – Showers and thunderstorms likely before 5 AM, then a chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59.
Sunday – A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 8 AM. Mostly sunny, with a high near 76. Southwest wind 6 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
