ASHEBORO NC – An Asheboro man is facing a long list of charges after a traffic stop for a possible DUI where police say they found evidence connecting him to several other crimes in the stolen car he was driving.
According to a press release by the Randolph County Sherriff’s Office on May 23, 2021, shortly after midnight, the deputies responded to Oakland Ave in Asheboro after receiving a call about a breaking/entering that had occurred earlier. The deputies met with the victim who gave them a list of missing items which included several banking cards.
Later that night at around 4:00 am, deputies were asked to assist the North Carolina Highway Patrol on a traffic stop. Troopers had stopped a driver for a possible DUI on I-73/74. During that traffic stop, the troopers found suspected illegal narcotics and several banking cards that had other people’s names on them. Deputies and troopers discovered that the vehicle was stolen earlier that night at around 3:30 am from a business located on US Hwy 311 in Archdale where several other vehicles were also reportedly broken into.
The driver was identified as Brandon Gregory Tyler Ore from Asheboro, who is now facing a laundry list of charges.
