ASHEBORO N.C. — A victim woke up to find two burglars in their home before being assaulted and having their dog stolen.
According to a press release from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office on November 29th, 2021, their deputies responded to Joe Branson Road in Bennett after getting a call about a breaking and entering and assault. The victim told police they woke up to two subjects entering their bedroom. One of the suspects assaulting the victim before the suspects took a dog from the residence as they left. The press release identified the suspects were identified as Cosette Laurie Michelle Wilkie and Sierra Denise Headen The Sheriffs Office went before the magistrate who found probable cause to issue Warrants for the arrest on Headen for Felony Breaking and/or Entering, Felony Larceny of a Dog, and Misdemeanor Simple Assault and on Wilkie for Felony Aid and Abet.
On December 7th, 2021 the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, Sierra Denise Headen, 20, of Siler City and Laurie Michelle Wilkie, 20 of Siler City were both arrested separately and transported to the Chatham County Jail where they were both issued a Written Promise to Appear in Randolph County District Court. After a first court date on December 13th the pair are scheduled to appear for their next court date in February 2022.
