RAMSEUR N.C. – The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says they are investigating after a firearm was seized from a student at Eastern Randolph High School this morning.
According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, on the morning of February 16th, 2024, it was reported to Eastern Randolph High School’s School Resource Officer that a juvenile student was on campus with a firearm on their person.
The School Resource Officer located the juvenile and searched the juvenile locating a firearm, which was secured without incident and was determined to be unloaded.
The name of the juvenile has not been released as NC laws prohibit the release of identifying information of juveniles.
The Sheriff’s Office says the school system notified the parents of students and that the investigation into this incident is ongoing.
