On Wednesday, March 13th, 2024, Troopers with the NC Highway Patrol responded to a crash on US 64 near Westbury Drive. Investigators say that a black 2017 Lexus RX 350 SUV passed a 2016 Toyota in a turning lane, resulting in a collision that sent the Toyota off the roadway to the right, striking an embankment, and a tree.
