TRINITY N.C. – A search warrant issued as a part of a joint investigation located nearly 30,000 Fentanyl pills at a home in Trinity and landed one person in jail.
On August 9th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Vice Unit and Criminal Interdiction Team, Asheboro Police Department’s Vice Unit, and the Department of Homeland Security’s Investigation division (HSI), executed a search warrant on a residence located at 6503 Bellawood Dr. in Trinity.
According to a press release, that search located approximately 28,400 Fentanyl pills that weighed approximately 12.5 pounds, along with U.S. Currency.
As a result, Robert Gurung was arrested and transported to Randolph County Jail where the magistrate found probable cause for the multiple felony drug and trafficking charges.
He received a $1,000,000 secured bond plus Electronic House Arrest with a first appearance set for August 10, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
