Today starts Mother’s Day weekend, and if you are looking for something to do, there is a lot going on across Randolph County.

Randleman Mother & Son Dance

Randleman Parks and Recreation will be holding a mother and son dance for ages 12 & under at the Randleman Civic Center from 6 until 8 p.m. Two tickets are $15 and $5 for each extra ticket and can be purchased at the front desk at the Recreation Center. Food and drinks will be provided. For more information call (336) 495-7525.

NC Zoo Plant Sale

This weekend is Mother’s Day, and at the Zoo that means only one thing: It’s Plant Sale time. On Saturday, May 11, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., a variety of plants cultivated by the Zoo’s horticulture experts will be on sale to the public. This year’s selection includes plants from the Aviary collection, as well as varieties suitable for native gardens, woodland gardens, rain gardens and butterfly gardens. The sale will be held at the Solar Pointe picnic area, located at the south end of the North America parking lot near the North America entrance. Zoo admission is not required to shop at the plant sale, which accepts cash and checks only.

Julian Lions Pancake Breakfast

The Julian Lions will be holding their pancake breakfast fundraiser this Saturday from 8 until 10 a.m.at the Clubhouse, located at 7323 Colonial Trading Path.

Kyle Petty Charity Ride – Pit Stop at Victory Junction

Come experience this fun filled day with the sights and sounds of 150 motorcycles, meet riders, take photos with celebrities, receive autographs, purchase memorabilia that benefit Victory Junction, and more. Among the celebrity riders this year are Richard Petty, Hershel McGriff, Max Papis, David Ragan, Ken Schrader, Kenny Wallace, Herschel Walker, Rick Allen, Rutledge Wood, and of course the leader of the pack, Kyle Petty!

Gates will open at Noon and close at 12:45 pm for arrival.

Spring Bash in Archdale

Live music and Food trucks fill the streets in Archdale for a Spring time family fun tradition.

NC Aviation Museum & Hall of Fame 1940s Hangar Dance

Join us for the Annual 1940s Hangar Dance at the North Carolina Aviation Museum. The Randolph Jazz Band will provide the big band music! Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be provided. Tickets will be available at the door. 1940s period clothes are suggested but not required. Party like it’s 1945!

Liberty Showcase Theater Presents ‘ZZ TOP NOTCH’

ZZ TOP NOTCH grew from the love of the music from that Little Ol’ Band from Texas. The members of the band comprise over 100 yrs of professional experience performing Classic Rock music. Established in 2022, ZZ TOP NOTCH has performed to crowds that are hungry for the ZZ Top style of Texas Blues and Rock. The Reverend Willie Gibson (Chuck Sirko – Guitar), Dusty Thrills (John Hubacheck – Bass) and Frank Beardless (Joe Snyder – Drums) are determined to bring the concert goer the ZZ Top experience to life.

Tickets range from $15 to $40 depending on seating.

RhinoLeap Productions presents Million Dollar Quartet

The Tony® Award-nominated musical MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET is set on December 4, 1956, when an extraordinary twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley together at Sun Records in Memphis for one of the greatest jam sessions ever. Relive the era with an incredible score of rock ‘n’ roll, gospel, R&B and country hits performed live onstage by actor-musicians.

Event is at the Sunset Theater from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets range from $20 – $40 and can be purchased online or at the door. Find out more and buy tickets here.
