911 Caller Reports Break In, RCSO Finds Suspect Trying to Break into Another Home

ASHEBORO N.C. - One person was arrested in Trinity after a 911 caller reported a breaking and entering in progress and police arrived to find the suspect attempting to break into another home. On December 10, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Koonce Dr., in Trinity, for a call about a suspicious person. According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, while enroute, another caller reported a breaking and entering in progress in the same area. The caller told officials that a white male subject had attempted to enter the residence, buildings, and had entered a vehicle. Two Arrested Near Ag Site for Stealing Telephone Wire

ASHEBORO N.C. - Two people were arrested last week near the Randolph County Agricultual Site for allegedly stealing telephone wire in the area. Last week, on December 8th, 2022, deputies with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office were patrolling on US Hwy 64 E, just outside the Asheboro city limits when they observed a vehicle pulling out from a trail that leads to the future site of the Randolph County Agricultural Center. According to the Sheriff's Office deputies were aware that there had been several larcenies reported in the area in recent months, including recent theft of telephone wire. Already in Jail for Vehicle Theft, Man Charged With ‘Burning Public Building’ for DMV Fire

ASHEBORO N.C. - The Randolph County Sheriff's Office announced several charges against a local man related to an intentional fire set at a DMV office and deputies didn't have to go far to find him as he was already in jail accused of stealing a car. On November 24, 2022, at around 5 pm, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Office on US Hwy 220 Bus. Asheboro PD Chases Vehicle into Guilford County, Asks for Help from Public

ASHEBORO N.C. - Police in Asheboro investigating a possible vehicle break-in at a local apartment complex found themselves in a vehicle chase. Now police are asking for information from the public to help identify the suspects as well as solve a string of vehicle break-ins. “Unknown Shooting” Leaves Two Injured in Asheboro

ASHEBORO N.C. - Police are investigating what they are calling an "unknown" shooting in the early hours of the morning that left two injured. On November 28, 2022 at approximately 1:02 am officers with the Asheboro Police Department were dispatched to Bennett Street in reference to an unknown gunshot call for service. Upon arrival officers located a Hispanic male victim, and a white female victim who sustained wounds as a result of the incident. Police say that both victims were transported to out of county medical facilities for further medical treatment. The female victim was stabilized, treated, and released. Asheboro Police Dept Patrol Vehicles Vandalized over Weekend

Photos provided by Asheboro Police Department ASHEBORO N.C. - Several patrol vehicles belonging to the Asheboro Police Department were vandalized with spray paint over the weekend. According to a report from the Asheboro Police Department around 3 pm on Saturday Nov 26th, 2022, a detective noticed and reported that 6 patrol vehicles in the parking lot adjacent to the station on E Academy Street had been vandalized with spray-paint. Police say that the patrol vehicles in the lot were spare vehicles and that the Criminal Investigations Division is currently investigating the case. Sheriff’s Office Seizes 230 Pounds of Marijuana on I-85

ASHEBORO N.C. - Two men from California were arrested this week after deputies with the Sheriff's Office stopped their Tractor Trailer on I-85. On November 21, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Highway Criminal InterdictionTeam pulled over a Tractor Trailer registered out of California on I-85 in Archdale. During that traffic stop, a K-9 alerted and a deputies searched the truck where according to a press release approximately 230 pounds of marijuana was located and seized.
