Traffic Stops Finds Wanted Man, Drugs, and Gun

ASHEBORO NC - Police say the found drugs and a gun in the vehicle of a man with active warrants during a traffic stop near Asheboro last week. According to information from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on August 27th, 2021 deputies were called to assist the NC Highway Patrol. Troopers had pulled over a vehicle on I-73/74 near the Spero Rd. exit. Police say they identified the driver as Brandon Jamal Weaks. Police searched the vehicle and say the located marijuana, schedule II controlled substances, paraphernalia and a firearm. Weaks was placed under arrest and a check through Randolph County 911 found that Weaks had and Outstanding Order for Arrest for Failure to Appear out of Guilford County. Man Facing Felonies After Police Say He Shot Into Home

ASHEBORO NC – A Thomasville man is in jail facing multiple felonies after police say he shot into a home with several people inside. On August 12, 2021, at approximately 10:34 pm, the Randolph County Sheriff’s responded to a report of shots fired into a home on Old Mountain Rd. in Trinity. When deputies arrived, witnesses told them that someone had fired several shots into a home while several people were inside. Police Say Driver Tried To Toss Stolen Gun During Traffic Stop

That's according to a press release from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office. They say on on August 7, 2021, deputies pulled over a car on I-73/74 just south of the US 64 Bypass. While the deputy was speaking with the passenger, the driver was seen throwing something it into the tall grassy area on the side of the highway. ASHEBORO NC - Police arrested a suspect they say robbed a man at gunpoint on the side of the road in Asheboro last week. Just before noon on Wednesday, August 04th, 2021, officers with the Asheboro Police Department responded to the intersection of Brewer St and Spring St in Asheboro, after getting a call about an armed robbery. Joint Vice/Narcotics Investigation Leads To Two Arrests

ASHEBORO NC - A joint investigation between the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office and the Asheboro Police Department has landed two people in jail on felony drug trafficking charges. In a press release, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says their Vice/Narcotics Unit and the Asheboro Police Departments Criminal Interdiction Team conducted a joint investigation into the distribution of Methamphetamine in the Asheboro area. Local Man Arrested After Running His Ex Off The Road

ASHEBORO NC – A local man is facing felony charges after crashing a car into his ex's car several times and fleeing the scene.The Randolph County Sheriff's Office says on July 11th, 2021, they were asked by Troopers with the North Carolina Highway Patrol to respond to the area of Old Farmer Road and Oakgrove Road, in Asheboro. Troopers were on the scene of an accident/hit-and-run that had occurred earlier during a domestic confrontation. Investigators assigned to the case were able to find enough evidence for the magistrate to find probable cause for charges against Michael Ray Roberts for two counts of Felony Indecent Liberties with a Child. Mother & Son Arrested For Attempted Murder

ASHEBORO NC - A mother and son are in jail today after police say a confrontation over stolen items led to a shooting in Thomasville. According to the Randolph County Sherriff's Office on June 26th, 2021, at around 10:40 pm, deputies responded to a report of an assault on Stonehenge Road in Thomasville.
