Charles Edman Moran, Jr. (left) and Matthew Kelly Flinchum (right) - (Provided by Randolph County Sheriff's Office) ASHEBORO N.C. — Two suspects who allegedly fired into a Randleman home earlier this week have been arrested and charged by the Sheriff’s Office.  On March 5th, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Wicker Lovell Rd., in Randleman after receiving numerous calls about shots being fired in the area.   According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, one of those callers told dispatchers that their home had been hit and they identified a white four-door vehicle that was driving by at the time.   When deputies arrived, they located fired ammunition casings along the roadway. Whitney Thayer May CHARGES[F] - Possession of methamphetamine [M] - Possession of drug paraphernalia BOND$2,000 secured bond On February 22, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to NC Hwy 22 N., Franklinville, in reference to a reported burglary. Upon investigation, it was determined that a burglary had not occurred. Methamphetamine and paraphernalia were located in the residence during the investigation. Whitney Thayer May was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for the charge(s) of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Randolph County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Roy Clay Williams, 54, for murder on Tuesday February 27th, 2024, after responding to a report of gunshots and finding a woman dead at the residence on Clark Avenue in Franklinville. Williams was being held without bond at Randolph County Jail after being booked just before midnight and appeared in Randolph County District Court this morning. According to a press release from the Highway Patrol, at 9:25 p.m. on Thursday, February 22nd, 2024, Troopers responded to the report of a vehicle crash on US 64 at NC 49 in Ramseur. RANDLEMAN N.C. – A woman is facing multiple felonies including felony insurance fraud related to a vehicle fire in Randleman late last year. According to a press release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on September 20th, 2023, deputies responded to Adams Farm Rd., in Randleman for a vehicle fire.  Evidence gathered at the scene and an investigation by the Randolph County Fire Marshal’s Office concluded that the fire was set intentionally.   The investigation led the Sheriff’s Office’s Criminal Investigations Division to seek charges against the vehicle owner, identified in the press release as 38-year-old Jodean Marie Stillwell, for felony insurance fraud, felony burning personal property, and felony attempt to obtain property by false pretense. According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, on the morning of February 16th, 2024, it was reported to Eastern Randolph High School’s School Resource Officer that a juvenile student was on campus with a firearm on their person. The School Resource Officer located the juvenile and searched the juvenile locating a firearm, which was secured without incident and was determined to be unloaded.
