Search Warrant at Asheboro Apartment Finds Drugs & Gun, Two Arrested

According to a police report on February 15th, 2023, officers with the department's VICE & Narcotics unit and the Special Enforcment Team conducted a search warrant for apartment 205 at the Sunset Place Apartments. Police say they seized 13.1 grams of cocaine and an MP-25 handgun during the search. Several years later the Motel 6 location has become a physical embodiment of the drug and crime problem that has plagued Randolph County. According to the Randolph County Sherriff's Office, on June 17, 2021, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Vice/Narcotics Unit, along with the Urban Criminal Interdiction Team, concluded an investigation related to the distribution of Heroin in the Sophia / Randleman area. Liberty Man Arrested On Trafficking Charges

ASHEBORO NC - A Liberty man was arrested in a parking lot in Staley on drug trafficking charges. That's according to a press release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office. They say on March 10th, 2021, the departments Vice and Narcotics Division concluded an investigation related to the distribution of Cocaine in the Liberty / Staley area. Detectives executed a search warrant at an address in Liberty. A search warrant was also executed on a vehicle that was parked at a business in Staley. During the search, detectives say they located and seized a trafficking amount of Cocaine, items of drug paraphernalia, and US Currency.
