Multi-Agency Drug Bust Leaves 2 In Federal Custody

ASHEBORO NC – A multi-agency drug bust led to a Randleman home being searched ending with two individuals in federal custody.

According to a press release by the Randolph County Sherriff’s Office, deputies with the Vice and Narcotics Division assisted by the Winston Salem Police Department, Asheboro Police Department, Randleman Police Department, NC State Bureau of Investigation and US Drug Enforcement Administration concluded an investigation related to the distribution of Methamphetamine in the Randleman area.

On March 16th, 2021, Detectives executed a search warrant at a residence on Sunset Drive in Randleman where they say they seized approximately 2.5 pounds of Fentanyl, 10.3 pounds of Methamphetamine, 12,601 dosage units (9.2 pounds) of Amphetamine, 52,152 dosage units (28.7 pounds) of Alprazolam (also known as Xanax) and .4 pounds of Cocaine.

Two individuals, Johnny Sophana Tith, 37, of Randleman,, and Alvaro Guzman, 26, of Perth Amboy, NJ, were arrested at the residence and transported to Randolph County Jail and have since been transferred into federal custody. Both individuals are being held under a Federal Detainer with No Bond.
