[Scott Pelkey | North State Journal] ASHEBORO N.C. - No one was injured in what officials are calling an accidental house fire last night in Asheboro. According to Samantha East, Public Information Officer with the Asheboro Fire Department at 10:42 pm, crews with the Asheboro Fire Department, along with Randolph County EMS were paged out to a structure fire at 1303 Uwharrie St. Officers with the Asheboro Police Department in the area reported heavy smoke billowing from windows of the home when they arrived. According to East the fire was quickly extinguished and crews were able to determine no one was home at the time of the fire, however a search of the home found the 2 family dogs had succumb to the smoke. ASHEBORO N.C. (ACME NEWS) - No one was injured in a house fire in Asheboro where firefighters arrived to find a fully involved house fire Friday afternoon. Just before 2:30 pm, on Friday March 25th 2022, Firefighters with the Asheboro Fire Department were called to a house on N Church Street. First unit to arrive on scene advised a small house was fully involved. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control in just under an hour. The house involved was a total loss and the American Red Cross was called in to assist the residents who were displaced. The heat from the fire also damaged a neighbor's fence and siding and power had to be temporarily cut off after live power lines began arching and shooting out sparks. Fire hoses at a fire engine,(Семен Саливанчук/Adobe Stock) ASHEBORO N.C. - Investigators with the Fire Marshal’s office are trying to determine what started a house fire Sunday that sent 3 people to the hospital. According to the Randolph County Fire Marshal’s Office, on Sunday at 11:35AM crews from Staley, Liberty and Franklinville Fire Departments responded to a call for a residential structure fire on White Lake Dr. When firefighters arrived they found a working fire at a single story home. At the time of the fire there were 7 adults in the home. All occupants were able to exit the structure. ASHEBORO NC – A mother and son had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital Wednesday afternoon after escaping a house fire. Randolph County 911 received a frantic call from the homeowner that her house was on fire at 2:12 PM. Staley Fire Department was dispatched to the house which was on Old Coleridge Rd, close to the Chatham County line and the first engine checked enroute in just slightly over one minute. Responding fire fighters reported seeing smoke from the fire one mile away, and reported flames coming through the roof when they arrived. ASHEBORO NC - Officials have released the name of the victim of a fatal house fire in Denton on Thursday. According to a statement from the Randolph County Sheriff's office fire crews from Randolph and Davidson counties were called to a report of a house fire at 7026 Canaan Church Rd., in Denton. Initial reports from 911 calls indicated someone was possibly still inside the house. Fire crews arrived to find the home heavily involved with fire. While working to put out the fire, firefighters found the body of a male in the living room of the home. investigators with the Randolph County Fire Marshal’s Office determined that the fire was accidental and caused by an electric space heater.
