Randolph County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Roy Clay Williams, 54, for murder on Tuesday February 27th, 2024, after responding to a report of gunshots and finding a woman dead at the residence on Clark Avenue in Franklinville. Williams was being held without bond at Randolph County Jail after being booked just before midnight and appeared in Randolph County District Court this morning. SEAGROVE N.C. - A suspect is being held without bond at the Randolph County Jail facing a felony murder charge, according to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office. On January 23, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) responded to Osborn Mill Rd., Seagrove, in reference to a reported trespassing. Upon arrival, a male subject was located with obvious injuries; including gunshot wounds. The responding deputy began CPR and requested Randolph County EMS. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene and RCSO Detectives began a death investigation. The victim was identified as Richard Andrew Green, II. ASHEBORO N.C. - On February 7th, 2023, the Sheriff’s Office announced they had made an arrest in connection with the 2014 murder of Tammy Sellers Holland. Holland, who was found stabbed to death inside her home on October 28, 2014. According to the information from the Sheriff's Office, on the day Holland’s body was discovered, a neighbor who had been attempting to contact Holland went to the residence after work to check on her in person. When Holland didn’t come to the door, the neighbor peered in the window and saw Holland in the living room and called 911. According to the autopsy report released by the N.C. On Aug 31st, 2021, Investigators with the Ramseur Police Department received a call from the Randolph Health Emergency Department about a 14-month-old child that had sustained serious injuries related to suspected child abuse. ASHEBORO NC - A murder suspect is in custody leading police on a high-speed chase through Randolph County overnight. According to a press release by the Asheboro Police Department, on Sunday, March 25, 2021, at 2:09 AM, officers were dispatched to 340 Brookside Drive in Asheboro for a call about an unknown medical situation. When officers arrived they discovered 55-year-old Sherrie Shaw deceased in the residence. Investigators with the Randolph County Sheriffs Office and Asheboro Police Department investigate a fatal shooting on Plummer St overnight. (Scott Pelkey / Acme News) ASHEBORO NC (ACME NEWS) - On Saturday, April 3, 2021, Randolph County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a shooting on Plummer Street in Asheboro. The arriving officers found three subjects at the home, all with gunshot wounds. According to a statement by the Randolph County Sherriff's Office, 27-year old Robert Lewis Spencer was pronounced dead at the scene. The two other subjects were transported to nearby trauma hospitals. One subject is currently in surgery and the other is in stable condition.
