NC Highway Patrol: Fiery Crash Claims Life of Asheboro Woman
ASHEBORO — An early-morning fiery crash in Asheboro has claimed the life of a local woman, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
At 6:25 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, troopers with the Highway Patrol were dispatched to a vehicle crash on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive near Mountain Top Drive.
According to a press release, 24-year-old Alvaro Cabrera Gudino, of Asheboro, was driving on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in a Honda minivan when she traveled off the right side of the road, struck a mailbox, a utility pole, and a tree. After impacting the tree, Gudino’s vehicle came to rest and caught fire.
Gudino suffered serious injuries and was transported to Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.
