ASHEBORO N.C. - An elderly pedestrian walking along US 220 in Randleman last night when he was fatally struck by a vehicle in an accident. According to a press release from the NC State Highway Patrol, at 10:07 pm on Thursday, December 15th, 2022, troopers responded to the report of a crash that occurred on US 220 Business near New Salem Road in Randolph County. Glenn Chriscoe, 83, of Randleman, NC, was traveling as a pedestrian, north on US 220 Business. A driver was traveling north on US 220 Business in a 2016 Nissan Altima. That driver struck Chriscoe in the roadway. Chriscoe died on-scene, the driver was uninjured during the collision. Investigators noted that Chriscoe was wearing dark clothing, without any available reflective markings, and walking in the travel lane of US 2...

ASHEBORO N.C. - A vehicle accident yesterday evening in Randleman on US 220 Business left one dead. On December 11, 2022, at approximately 6:24 p.m., officers with the Randleman Police Department responded to a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian on US 220 Business N near Sibbett Street. The pedestrian, Christopher Dale Hicks, 38, of Randleman, was struck by a 2014 Honda CR-V. According to a press release from the Randleman Police Department, the driver was traveling south on US 220 Business when Hicks walked into the roadway and was struck by Dobbins’ vehicle. Hicks was pronounced dead at the scene. No Charges will be filed.

On October 11th, 2022, just after 10:30 am, officers with the Asheboro Police Department responded to a call about a fight in progress at the intersection of East Pritchard St and Farr St. According to a police report from the incident, when officers arrived, a male stepped out of a vehicle, laid on the ground and put his hands behind his head before confessing to ramming the other vehicle and assaulting both the occupants with a knife. On October 9th, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to High Point St, in Randleman for a call about an armed robbery that had occurred on Interstate 73/74. When the police arrived, they located the victim who had obvious injuries. The victim told police that he was riding with a “friend” who he was allowing to drive his new vehicle. That "friend" was identified by the Sheriff's Office as "James David Marler". RANDLEMAN N.C. - Crews from the Level Cross Fire Department, bringing the departments squad truck to Randleman for service, had to call fellow firefighters after a small electrical fire started inside the truck. Early this afternoon two firefighters with the Level Cross Fire Department were bringing the departments old squad truck (used for medical and rescue calls) into Randleman to diagnose a problem with the apparatus was having starting.
