Local Man Wanted for B&E and Larceny Located and Arrested

ASHEBORO NC - A local man with several warrants for breaking and entering and larceny was located and arrested by police last weekend. On March 25th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Russell Walker Ave, in Randleman, after hearing a wanted suspect they were attempting to locate was in the area. When deputies arrived, they say they observed Ethan Wayne Stanley fleeing on foot. He was located hiding under an outbuilding and arrested. According to the Sheriff's Office, during a search following the arrest, marijuana and paraphernalia were in his possession. Stanley was issued a citation for marijuana before being transported to the Randolph County jail, where methamphetamine was located during the booking process. A Sheriff's Deputy walks into the Africa entrance at the NC Zoo after a bomb threat triggered an evacuation. Monday morning at approximately 10:45 am, emergency crews were called to the Zoo after receiving a report of a bomb threat. Man Found Unconscious in Sophia Driveway Charged for Driving There in Stolen Car

ASHEBORO N.C. - A man found unconscious and laying in a driveway is facing charges after police say he drove there in a stolen vehicle. On January 13th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home on Mill Race Ct., in Sophia, after receiving a call about a possible overdose. The caller reported a male subject was unconscious in the driveway of the residence. When Deputies arrived, they say they located Robert Crumpton, unconscious and lying in the driveway. Deputies cleared the scene for Randolph County EMS who responded to the scene to render aid. Suspect Wanted in 3 Counties Arrested on Traffic Stop

ASHEBORO N.C. - A suspect who was wanted in three separate counties in connection with larceny charges was arrested on a traffic stop earlier this week. On March 20, 2023, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Deputy observed a vehicle that matched the description of a suspect vehicle in a recent larceny investigation and conducted a traffic stop in the area of Kennedy Rd., Trinity. Upon approaching the driver’s side, the deputy recognized the driver as the same suspect in that incident. The Sheriff's Office says the driver initially gave a false name but was later identified as Shavon Melissa Kennedy. Manhunt Leads to Massive Police Presence on Zoo Connector / 64 Bypass Last Week

ASHEBORO N.C. - Last week a manhunt triggered a massive police presence on the 64 Bypass near the Zoo Connector Rd. On March 3rd, 2023, around 5 p.m. deputies with the Randolph County Sheriff's Office observed Steven Wayne Golden, a wanted suspect, on a bicycle on Staley's Farm Rd, near the Zoo Connector and attempted to contact him. Golden attempted to flee on the bicycle but crashed into a guardrail on the bridge before fleeing on foot into a wooded area, leading to a manhunt and a massive police presence in the area. Grand Jury Indicts Man for Felony Sex Crimes with Minor

ASHEBORO N.C. - The Grand Jury has indicted a local man for multiple felonies involving sexual crimes with a minor. On December 29, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding allegations of sexual offenses involving minors. Following an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, charges were sought against Christopher Lee Clark for two counts of felony indecent liberties with a child, two counts felony disseminate obscenity, six counts felony first degree statutory sex offense, and misdemeanor assault on a child under 12 years of age.
