ASHEBORO N.C. - The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says they have arrested a suspect in connection with the vandalism and burglary of a church and burglary of a local convenience store in Franklinville. According to a press release on April 6th, 2022, the Sheriff’s Office responded to West Main Street inFranklinville after getting a call about vandalism that occured at a church. Just two days later deputies were called back to the same church for a burglary.From speaking with the 911 caller they learned that an unknown subject had forcibly broken into the church fellowship hall and had gone through the storage room and all of the closets. according to the Sheriff's Office the suspect had damaged parts of the building during the break in. ASHEBORO N.C. - A suspect arrested after a family fight where he tried to assault the victims with a knife was arrested just 4 hours later when he returned to the home and threatened the victims with a gun. According to a press release from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, On April 10th, 2022, at around 7:00 pm, deputies responded to Acts Temple Dr. in Randleman for a call about a family fight in progress. When police arrived they say victims and witnesses reported that Ricky Shannon Housand had tried to assault the victim with a knife. Housand was arrested and taken to the Randolph County jail, where the magistrate found probable cause for the charge of misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon. ASHEBORO N.C. - A local man was arrested Sunday after police responded to a call about shots fired at the Randolph Inn in Asheboro. According to a press release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on April 10th, 2022, police were dispatched to the area of Albemarle Rd after 911 caller reported someone was firing a gun. Units with the Asheboro Police Department arrived first at the Randolph Inn also responded. Police say they witnessed subjects fighting in the parking lot. The alleged assailant, identified in the press release as as Trevor Aaron Holmes, was detained. Victims reported that Holmes had been chasing them around the vehicle with a machete. ASHEBORO N.C. - An investigation into fentanyl by the Randolph County Sheriff's Office resulted to a multi-agency drug investigation leading to a Randolph County man facing felony trafficking charges. According to a press release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on April 1st, 2022, the Criminal Interdiction Team conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that police say was operated by Jarvis James Siler. During a search of that vehicle the Sheriff's Office says they found a trafficking amount of Fentanyl and MDMA (the active ingredient in Ecstasy) was seized. ASHEBORO N.C. - Four individuals are facing a total of 69 felony charges following an investigation into a theft-ring stealing catalytic converters and copper in northwestern Randolph County. After being rescheduled from earlier this month, the Randolph County Sheriff's Office held a press conference on April 1st 2022, where they revealed they had been involved in a multi-week investigation into what they called a "theft-ring" operating in the Trinity, Archdale, Thomasville, and High Point areas. ASHEBORO N.C. - Last night deputies with the Randolph County Sheriff's Office responded to a fatal stabbing at a home in Thomasville. On March 29, 2022, at around 10:00 pm, the deputies were called to a home on Reddy Foxx Ln. in Thomasville after getting a call about a stabbing. Police say when they arrived the located a man on the porch of the home suffering from stab wounds. The victim, who police identified as Randy Hunt, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The resident, Fred Thomas Dyles, Jr., who was also the one who called 911, identified the victim as his neighbor. Dyles reported that Hunt had attempted to break into his home and he had stabbed him.
