Suspect in Stolen Vehicle Tries to Flee, Crashes into Truck

ASHEBORO N.C. - A suspect allegedly driving a stolen vehicle tried to flee from police earlier this week but ended up crashing into a truck and being arrested. On August 29th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, who were tracking a vehicle reported stolen out of Lexington that had entered Randolph County. Randolph County deputies located the vehicle in the area of Meadowbrook Rd. and Kennedy Farm Rd. and attempted to pull over the driver. A Randolph County Deputy Chased a Vehicle on Foot, Arrests Driver

ASHEBORO N.C. - A Randolph County Deputy chased a vehicle on foot that was trying to flee and arrested the driver who was likely feeling a bit of déjà vu. On August 21st, 2023, while performing routine patrol in the area of Little Gate Dr., in Asheboro, a deputy with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office spotted a vehicle parked beside the railroad tracks. According to a press release the deputy stopped to investigate and located a male subject, identified as Gregory Allen Walker, who was found asleep inside the vehicle. Sheriff’s Office Seizes 44 Pounds of Cocaine from Traffic Stop

On August 20th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Team conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 85 north near mile marker 109, in Trinity. During that stop, officers say they located approximately forty-four pounds of cocaine in the "trunk area" of the vehicle. The driver, identified by the Sheriff's Office as 60-year-old Antonio Argentine Shaw from Virginia, was arrested and has been charged with two counts of Felony Trafficking in Cocaine. According to a press release from the Randolph County Sherriff's Office, on August 7th, 2023, Mason Bryce Wooten was observed in surveillance footage striking a sprinkler head in his cell, setting off the system in his cell, at the Randolph County Jail. Sheriff’s Office Charges Man with Embezzling from Local Baseball Club

ASHEBORO N.C. - The Randolph County Sheriff's Office has charged a local man with embezzling several thousand dollars from a local baseball club. On October 14th, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into suspected embezzlement after receiving a report from a local community baseball club. According to a press release, that investigation led to investigators charging 37-year-old Jesse Lee Martin from Denton, NC, with one count of Felony Embezzlement on August 10th, 2023. Nearly 30,000 Fentanyl Pills Seized in Search Warrant

TRINITY N.C. - A search warrant issued as a part of a joint investigation located nearly 30,000 Fentanyl pills at a home in Trinity and landed one person in jail. On August 9th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Vice Unit and Criminal Interdiction Team, Asheboro Police Department’s Vice Unit, and the Department of Homeland Security's Investigation division (HSI), executed a search warrant on a residence located at 6503 Bellawood Dr. in Trinity. According to a press release, that search located approximately 28,400 Fentanyl pills that weighed approximately 12.5 pounds, along with U.S. Currency. ASHEBORO N.C. - This month the Randolph County Sheriff's Office will be conducting 'Operation School Supplies' to fill law enforcement vehicles with school supplies for local students. Here's what you need to know. Starting August 21st and running through 25th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office will be collecting school supplies in front of the Asheboro Walmart from 9 am – 1 pm each day. Donations of pencils, pens, notebooks, paper, crayons, markers, calculators, erasers, binders, rulers, glue, and more are all needed to fill the law enforcement vehicle each day.
