Man Charged With Disseminating Obscene Material To Minors

ASHEBORO NC - According to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office a local man has been charged with Disseminating Obscene Material to Minors. A press release from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says the Criminal Investigation Division Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) division received information that an individual by the name of Justin Christopher McKinney was Disseminating Obscene Material to Minors. Justin Christopher McKinney Detectives began an investigation and on March 16th, 2021, Warrants for Arrest were issued for McKinney for two counts Felony Disseminate Obscene Material to Minor. Trinity Man Dies After Being Struck On Hwy 62

ASHEBORO NC - A Trinity man was struck and killed on Hwy 62 Monday. According to the NC Highway Patrol at 10:23 AM on Monday, March 15th, 2021, Troopers responded to the report of a crash on N.C. Highway 62 near Colonial Circle in Trinity. Tyler Lee Gray, 30, of Trinity NC, had parked his 2007 Honda pickup towing a utility trailer on the westbound shoulder of Hwy 62, partially in the roadway. Gray and was outside of his vehicle. Lawrence Edward Walker, 80, of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., was traveling west in a 2019 Ford SUV. When Walker attempted to pass Gray he was forced to swerve back into the westbound lane due to an oncoming eastbound vehicle and collided with Gray. Gray died at the scene. Walker was not injured, and charges are pending.

Liberty Man Arrested On Trafficking Charges

ASHEBORO NC - A Liberty man was arrested in a parking lot in Staley on drug trafficking charges. That's according to a press release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office. They say on March 10th, 2021, the departments Vice and Narcotics Division concluded an investigation related to the distribution of Cocaine in the Liberty / Staley area. Detectives executed a search warrant at an address in Liberty. A search warrant was also executed on a vehicle that was parked at a business in Staley. During the search, detectives say they located and seized a trafficking amount of Cocaine, items of drug paraphernalia, and US Currency. Detour Upcoming for NC 49 in Randolph County

LIBERTY NC.(NC DOT PRESS RELEASE)- State transportation maintenance crews need to close a section of N.C. 49 in Liberty for about two weeks to conduct an emergency replacement of a storm drain. The drain failed where it passes under the highway near South Valley Street on the eastern side of the town. Starting Monday, traffic will be detoured to follow East Dameron Avenue/Silk Hope Liberty Road, Hinshaw Shop Road and Staley Store Road/Town Country Road to access points on either side of the closure. ASHEBORO NC - A total of ten vehicles were involved in three separate, but related crashes, this morning on I-73 near Vision Drive. According to a press release by the NC Highway Patrol, at 6:19 AM on Monday, March 1st, 2021, troopers responded to I-73 near Vision Drive to a report of multiple vehicle accidents. According to an official statement, the incident started when Ronald Wheeler, 60, of Albemarle N.C., was traveling north in a 2012 Peterbilt tractor-trailer in the left lane. According to meteorologists, a mix of rain and freezing drizzle will taper off tonight around 9 PM. Ice from this wintery mix will stick around as overnight temperatures hover around freezing.
