Man Fired Gun in Argument, Arrested and Charged

ASHEBORO N.C. - A local man is facing criminal charges after the Sheriff's Office says he fired a gun out his car window following an argument. On March 19, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Branson Mill Rd., Randleman, in reference to an armed person. When deputies arrived, the victim told them that Abijah John Lewis II, had driven to his home and an argument ensued in the driveway, according to a press release. Police say as Lewis was backing out of the driveway, he fired a weapon out the driver’s side window. Criminal Investigations and CSI responded to the scene and evidence was collected which led to charges being sought on Lewis for felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Sheriff’s Office Arrests Three Individuals Caught Stealing at Construction Site

ASHEBORO NC - The Sheriff's Office arrested and charged three people for allegedly stealing items from a construction site in Trinity this week. On March 28, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of School Road and Trinity Road, in Trinity after receiving a call about a possible larceny/theft. When deputies arrived, they located a vehicle with three occupants at the construction site. The occupants were identified as Ronnie Dale Tate, Jr., Scott Russell Leonard, and Morgan Lindsey Davidson. The suspects were detained for an investigation which according to the Sheriff's Office uncovered evidence that the occupants were attempting to steal items from the premises after two catalytic converters were located in the back of the truck. Local Man Wanted for B&E and Larceny Located and Arrested

ASHEBORO NC - A local man with several warrants for breaking and entering and larceny was located and arrested by police last weekend. On March 25th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Russell Walker Ave, in Randleman, after hearing a wanted suspect they were attempting to locate was in the area. When deputies arrived, they say they observed Ethan Wayne Stanley fleeing on foot. He was located hiding under an outbuilding and arrested. According to the Sheriff's Office, during a search following the arrest, marijuana and paraphernalia were in his possession. Man Found Unconscious in Sophia Driveway Charged for Driving There in Stolen Car

ASHEBORO N.C. - A man found unconscious and laying in a driveway is facing charges after police say he drove there in a stolen vehicle. On January 13th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home on Mill Race Ct., in Sophia, after receiving a call about a possible overdose. The caller reported a male subject was unconscious in the driveway of the residence. When Deputies arrived, they say they located Robert Crumpton, unconscious and lying in the driveway. Deputies cleared the scene for Randolph County EMS who responded to the scene to render aid. Manhunt Leads to Massive Police Presence on Zoo Connector / 64 Bypass Last Week

ASHEBORO N.C. - Last week a manhunt triggered a massive police presence on the 64 Bypass near the Zoo Connector Rd. On March 3rd, 2023, around 5 p.m. deputies with the Randolph County Sheriff's Office observed Steven Wayne Golden, a wanted suspect, on a bicycle on Staley's Farm Rd, near the Zoo Connector and attempted to contact him. Golden attempted to flee on the bicycle but crashed into a guardrail on the bridge before fleeing on foot into a wooded area, leading to a manhunt and a massive police presence in the area. Grand Jury Indicts Man for Felony Sex Crimes with Minor

ASHEBORO N.C. - The Grand Jury has indicted a local man for multiple felonies involving sexual crimes with a minor. On December 29, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding allegations of sexual offenses involving minors. Following an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, charges were sought against Christopher Lee Clark for two counts of felony indecent liberties with a child, two counts felony disseminate obscenity, six counts felony first degree statutory sex offense, and misdemeanor assault on a child under 12 years of age. Human Remains found in Staley Linked to Missing Person

ASHEBORO N.C. - Human remains found in Staley earlier this month have been identified as a missing person from 2021. On February 8th, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Shady Grove Church Rd. in Staley after receiving a call that a citizen had located human remains while walking in a wooded area. According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, human remains along with identifying articles were recovered by investigators and sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for identification. On February 14th, 2023, the State Medical Examiner’s Office made a positive identification to be those of Steven Tyler Tuttle. Sheriff’s Office Makes Arrest in 2014 Cold Case

ASHEBORO N.C. - On February 7th, 2023, the Sheriff’s Office announced they had made an arrest in connection with the 2014 murder of Tammy Sellers Holland. Holland, who was found stabbed to death inside her home on October 28, 2014. According to the information from the Sheriff's Office, on the day Holland’s body was discovered, a neighbor who had been attempting to contact Holland went to the residence after work to check on her in person. When Holland didn’t come to the door, the neighbor peered in the window and saw Holland in the living room and called 911. According to the autopsy report released by the N.C.
