ASHEBORO N.C. - Police are investigating a stabbing that took place earlier this afternoon at Bicentennial Park in Asheboro. Just after 3pm on June 15th, 2023, police, fire, and EMS were dispatched to Bicentennial Park in downtown Asheboro for a report of a stabbing. One victim was located near the fountain, bleeding, and was treated and then transported from the scene by EMS. Their condition is not known currently. APD deployed a K9 to attempt to locate a suspect who fled the scene. Detectives and Investigators are currently on scene collecting evidence and speaking with witnesses. [Scott Pelkey | North State Journal] ASHEBORO N.C. - One person was taken to the hospital after a reported stabbing at the Randolph Mall Tuesday evening. On April 25th, 2023, at around 6:15 pm, police were called to the Dunham's Sports store at the Randolph Mall for a report of a stabbing. According to Robbie Brown, Assistant Chief of Police with the Asheboro Police Department, the victim reported he was assaulted by several black males while in the business. The victim was transported to a local medical facility for treatment, no update on their condition is available at this time and no information about the individuals involved can be released due to their age. Brown says the case has been assigned to a detective in Criminal Investigations Division.

ASHEBORO N.C. - The Randolph County Sheriff's Office and the Randolph County DA's Office say that no one will face charges after a man died from being stabbed after breaking in and assaulting a victim with a Domestic Violence Protective Order against him. On December 13th, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Stanton Rd for a call about an assault. Deputies spoke with the victim, who stated she had gotten into an argument with her boyfriend who had left the scene prior to the deputies' arrival. ASHEBORO N.C. - The Randolph County Sheriff's Office is investigating what it believes to be a murder suicide that occurred overnight in Archdale. According to a press release, at around 4:55 am this morning, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says it responded to a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Huff Rd., Archdale. The caller reported being onthe phone with a male subject living on Huff Rd., who was threatening to shoot himself. Thecaller reported hearing a gunshot and the conversation ended. When police arrived at the home no one responded, and deputies forced entry where they then located two male subjects in the residence. ASHEBORO N.C. - Police arrested a man last night after they we called to a local motel for a stabbing. On September 21st, 2022, just after 7:30 pm, the Asheboro Police Department were called to 827 Albemarle Road in reference to a stabbing.  According to officials with the police department, when officers arrived, they spoke with the victim who reported he had been assaulted. The officer noted wounds to the victim's head however they refused to be transported by EMS. ASHEBORO N.C. - A man has been arrested on and charged with multiple felony assault charges after the Sheriff's office says they were called to a stabbing last Friday in Franklinville. On July 23, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to the area of Rockie River Street and US Hwy 64 E, in Franklinville, responding to a 9-1-1 caller stating that someone had been assaulted. Once deputies, Randolph County EMS and Franklinville Fire Department arrived on scene, it was determined that the victim was suffering from numerous injuries, including a stab wound. ASHEBORO N.C. - A local man is in jail under a one million dollar bond after police say he stabbed a victim multiple times on Sunday. Officers with Asheboro Police Department responded to Pelican Snowballs on Sunday May 8th 2022, after a child ran into the business reporting their mother had been stabbed. Officers responded to the business as well as a residence on Washington Ave. There they located they victim, identified as Renalta Smith, who had been stabbed multiple times. Smith was transported by EMS to a local medical facility. Police say after receiving a tip they were able to located the suspect identified as Kelly Lashaun Wiley, at the Dollar General on Zoo Parkway. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says Wednesday night at approximately 9:00 pm, deputies were called to what started out as a vehicle accident where a car had struck a pedestrian on Loflin Hill Road in Trinity. ASHEBORO NC – According to a police report by the Asheboro Police Department on October 9th officers along with fire and EMS crews were called to 405 Farmer Rd in reference to a stabbing. A couple at the Asheboro apartment each claimed the other had stabbed them. The police report says that the girlfriend had called 911and told police her boyfriend upset that she refused to have sex with him, had jumped on her on the couch and stabbed her in the leg before she wrestled the knife away from him.
