ASHEBORO NC – A man is facing charges for allegedly possessing a stolen firearm and drugs after going through a license checkpoint last Friday.
According to the Randolph County Sherriff’s office, on May 7, 2021, the Criminal Interdiction Team conducted a license checkpoint on Vision Drive in cooperation with the Governor’s Highway Safety Program. Deputies encountered a subject who they identified as Musin Shaborr Roberts. According to a press release they conducted an investigation that led to a search of the vehicle where the deputies recovered a stolen firearm, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Roberts was transported to Randolph County Detention Center where he was charged with Felony Possession Stolen Firearm, Misdemeanor Carrying Concealed Gun, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, and Misdemeanor Possession Marijuana Paraphernalia. He was given a $5,000 Secured Bond and was set to appear in Randolph County District Court last Monday.
