When the victim reached the intersection of Fuller Mill Rd. and Green Tree Rd., witnesses say he opened the door of his vehicle door and fell out onto the road. Drivers stopped and and were trying to help when the Skippers drove up and Steven Skipper assaulted the victim according to witnesses on scene.
A nearby resident had called 911, “There’s one lady here yelling at him, saying your the S O B who tried to run someone over” the caller said. Another person who was with the victim when the Skippers arrived told 911, “She (Elva Skipper) said he tried to run over them so she said she shot him, with a 22 is what she said she shot him with. The caller reported to dispatchers that the victim had been shot twice, “she’s standing right here and you can smell the alcohol, and they tried to kick him in the face.” Elva Skipper had the 22 caliber handgun in her vehicle when the fire department arrived.
