Acme Ventures Set To Pull Recourses From Randolph News Now; Cites Lack Of Interest In Digital Advertising

ASHEBORO N.C. (ACME NEWS) - Despite tens of thousands of monthly readers, Acme Ventures LLC, the parent company of both Acme News and Randolph News Now is set to begin pulling resources away from Randolph News Now starting as soon as the end of the month. Randolph News Now saw a rapid and sustained growth at the end of 2021, with the monthly reader count spiking at 51,000 readers before leveling out to a new average of 25,000 readers per month. In 2022 the site has already passed 125,000 total readers. Multi-Agency Drug Investigation Leads To Arrest Of Randolph County Man for Trafficking

ASHEBORO N.C. - An investigation into fentanyl by the Randolph County Sheriff's Office resulted to a multi-agency drug investigation leading to a Randolph County man facing felony trafficking charges. According to a press release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on April 1st, 2022, the Criminal Interdiction Team conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that police say was operated by Jarvis James Siler. During a search of that vehicle the Sheriff's Office says they found a trafficking amount of Fentanyl and MDMA (the active ingredient in Ecstasy) was seized. This month Acme News has seen a lot of police reports and press releases involving stolen vehicles coming through our newsroom. On March 3, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to US Hwy 311 in Sophia, in after getting a call about subjects in the parking lot in a vehicle that the caller believed was stolen. (Scott Pelkey / Acme News) ASHEBORO N.C. (ACME NEWS) - Detectives and CSI are on the scene of a shooting where three people were injured this afternoon. A press release from the Asheboro Police Department says at around 4:30 pm, patrol officers were dispatched to the area of Coleridge Road near Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in reference to a shooting. Arriving officers found 3 victims, a 19 year old male and two juveniles who had all been shot. (Scott Pelkey / Acme News) All individuals were transported to a local medical facility. (ACME NEWS) - Police are investigating how a local man who had been reported missing ended up deceased in a wooded area near an Asheboro apartment complex yesterday. On March 9th, 2022, around noon, patrol officers with the Asheboro Police Department were called to the 700 block of Breeze Hill Road, after getting a call about a missing person last seen in the area the day before. ASHEBORO N.C. - Police say they arrested two people who are now facing felony charges after their attempt to flee from a failed larceny was thwarted when their stolen vehicle got stuck in the mud. On February 18, 2022,The Randolph County Sheriff's Office responded to a larceny at a business on Hwy 64 E. According to the press release from Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, police were informed that two people were attempting to steal from a business but were stopped and then proceeded to flee from the scene.
