VICE Search Warrant Locates Drugs, Guns, Stolen Vehicle, 2 Arrested

ASHEBORO N.C. - Asheboro Police Departments VICE/Narcotics unit conducted a search warrant on a home last Wednesday that landed 2 people in jail and located drugs as well as several stolen guns and a stolen vehicle. According to a police report from the Asheboro Police Department on Wednesday Jan 26th 2022 the VICE/Narcotics team along with the Special Enforcement Team (SET) and the Department’s SWAT team conducted a search warrant on a home at 640 Tucker St in Asheboro. Police say they seized suspected cocaine, crack, and marijuana along with two stolen firearms. Police also say they located a stolen vehicle at the home. Snow (Vladimir Sazonov/Adobe Stock) ASHEBORO N.C. - Family members are mourning the loss of a loved one after she was found deceased in the snow Saturday morning outside of Northpointe Assisted Living Facility in Asheboro. On the morning of Saturday January 29th 2022, a winter storm dropped 1-2” of snow across Randolph County and plunged temperatures into the teens. At around 07:00 am, a worker at Northpointe Assisted Living Facility on Pineview Rd in Randleman called 911 after finding 89-year-old Thelma Lorraine Armstrong Wray collapsed on the ground outside. She had no pulse and was not breathing. Randolph County 911 received the first call about the fire at 11:36am on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. The caller reported a building was on fire at at 2382 Doul Mtn. Rd at the Tot Hill Farm Golf Course. Crews from Ulah, East Side and Westside Fire Departments all responded along with Randolph County EMS and Emergency Management. ASHEBORO N.C. - A call about possible drug activity led police to locating a suspect who had fled on foot and escaped earlier in the day. According to a press release from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office on January 21st, 2022, a deputy in the area of Hwy 64 E near Asheboro observed a vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle stolen from Old Cox Rd reported stolen on December 29th, 2021. The Sheriff’s Office says the deputy followed the vehicle to the Dollar General on US Hwy 64 E, where police say the suspect fled on foot.Additional deputies and a K-9 were dispatched to help locate the suspect but the K9 lost the scent on Loflin Pond Road. ASHEBORO N.C. (ACME NEWS) - Two people had to be airlifted from Randolph Hospital overnight following a Shooting on Cedar Falls Rd in Asheboro. According to a press release from the Asheboro Police Department, last night at around 11:40pm officers from the Asheboro Police Department were dispatched to 1012 Cedar Falls Road in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived they located a male victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound in a small building behind the residence. The male who police identified as 29-year-old Randy Christopher Brower of Kernersville was taken to Randolph Hospital by Randolph County EMS. ASHEBORO N.C. - A suspect has been arrested and charged with Felony Second Degree Murder in connection with a fatal shooting in Randleman on Jan 8th. Tonight the Randolph County Sheriff's Office announced in a press release that they arrested 19-year-old Alexandre Osorio Carbajal (who also goes by the alias Alexander Hernandez). ASHEBORO N.C. - Emergency crews responded to the Ramseur Quik Chek after getting calls that part of the roof over the diesel pumps had collapsed Sunday. On Sunday evening just before 6pm, emergency crews with the Ramseur Fire Department along with Ash-Rand Rescue were called to a roof collapse at the Ramseur Quik Chek. According to officials from the Ramseur Fire Department they arrived to find that a small portion of the awning was over the diesel pumps had collapse, resulting in minimal damage. The business was closed at the time and no injuries were reported. Crews said they did not see any indications of any disrepair or weakness to the awning and said the collapse may have been due to the weight of the ice and water.
