ASHEBORO N.C. - Three people were arrested last Wednesday in connection with the theft of catalytic converters in Asheboro. According to the Randolph County Sherriff's Office on June 16, 2021, deputies responded to Old Cox Rd., Asheboro, after receiving a call about a burglary. The victim said someone had attempted to cut the catalytic converter from his vehicle and was able to describe several suspicious vehicles seen in the area. While the deputies were on taking the report, a vehicle matching the description was seen passing by. A deputy was able to catch up with the vehicle and pull it over. ASHEBORO NC - On the night of June 15th the Randolph County Sherriff's office arrested one man for allegedly stealing a car and another for trying to destroy evidence. According to a press release, on June 15, 2021, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Danny Bell Rd for a report of a stolen car. The victim identified Jesse Lee Thompson as the suspect. At around 11:46 pm, deputies located the stolen car at a house in the Poole Rd. area of Archdale. While the deputies were in the home, they saw a crystal-like substance on the table in the kitchen with multiple syringes. Juan-Alberto-Gonzalez-Fuentes According to a press release by the Randolph County Sherriff's Office, on May 21, 2021, they received a report of allegations of sexual misconduct by Juan Alberto Gonzalez Fuentes. The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division and Randleman Police Department opened a joint investigation which led to them obtaining warrants for the arrest of Mr. Gonzalez Fuentes for three counts of Felony Statutory Sex Offense with a child <= 15 on June 2, 2021. ASHEBORO NC - A suspected prowler is in jail after being shot while trying to attack a homeowner Saturday afternoon. According to a press release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, On May 29, 2021, deputies responded to a report of a prowler in the area of Post Rd in Tabernacle. A homeowner had called 911 to report a possible prowler and told police that a man was trespassing on their property and was told to leave.   After calling 911 the homeowner noticed the interior lights to their vehicle were on and went to check it out. ASHEBORO NC - A man is facing charges for allegedly possessing a stolen firearm and drugs after going through a license checkpoint last Friday. According to the Randolph County Sherriff's office, on May 7, 2021, the Criminal Interdiction Team conducted a license checkpoint on Vision Drive in cooperation with the Governor’s Highway Safety Program. Deputies encountered a subject who they identified as Musin Shaborr Roberts. ASHEBORO N.C. - A High Point Man is facing multiple charges after fleeing from police.  According to a press release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on May 3, 2021, a Deputy tried to pull a vehicle over on S. Main Street in Archdale. The driver, who was later identified as Evan Dale Parrish, keep driving and police began a pursuit. When Parrish approached the intersection of N. Main St. and NC Highway 62, he attempted to make a left turn onto Trindale Road, lost control of his vehicle, and collided with several vehicles in the Southbound lanes. Tremain Christopher Weekes According to a press release by the Randolph County Sherriff's Office on May 3, 2021, the Highway Criminal Interdiction Team conducted a traffic stop on I-85 in Archdale. The driver, Tremain Christopher Weekes of Brooklyn NY, was wanted out of Florida for Failure to Appear for Attempted Murder. ASHEBORO NC - A murder suspect is in custody leading police on a high-speed chase through Randolph County overnight. According to a press release by the Asheboro Police Department, on Sunday, March 25, 2021, at 2:09 AM, officers were dispatched to 340 Brookside Drive in Asheboro for a call about an unknown medical situation. When officers arrived they discovered 55-year-old Sherrie Shaw deceased in the residence. According to information from the Sherriff's office, on April 15, 2021, deputies encountered a vehicle in the parking lot of the satellite Sheriff’s Office in Archdale. The female driver, who police identified as Stephanie Kay Shackleford, was yelling and appeared to be impaired. The passenger, whom police identified as Jason Wayne Moss, was found to have a warrant for Failure to Appear on charges of Obtaining Property by False Pretense and Misdemeanor Larceny and was placed under arrest.
