ASHEBORO N.C. - A High Point Man is facing multiple charges after fleeing from police.  According to a press release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on May 3, 2021, a Deputy tried to pull a vehicle over on S. Main Street in Archdale. The driver, who was later identified as Evan Dale Parrish, keep driving and police began a pursuit. When Parrish approached the intersection of N. Main St. and NC Highway 62, he attempted to make a left turn onto Trindale Road, lost control of his vehicle, and collided with several vehicles in the Southbound lanes. ASHEBORO NC- A Brooklyn man accused of shooting at a stripper in Miami Beach and stealing a car in Maryland was arrested on a traffic stop in Randolph County on Monday. Tremain Christopher Weekes According to a press release by the Randolph County Sherriff's Office on May 3, 2021, the Highway Criminal Interdiction Team conducted a traffic stop on I-85 in Archdale. The driver, Tremain Christopher Weekes of Brooklyn NY, was wanted out of Florida for Failure to Appear for Attempted Murder. The attempted murder charge stems from an incident on October 8th, 2020, in Miami Beach. ASHEBORO NC - A murder suspect is in custody leading police on a high-speed chase through Randolph County overnight. According to a press release by the Asheboro Police Department, on Sunday, March 25, 2021, at 2:09 AM, officers were dispatched to 340 Brookside Drive in Asheboro for a call about an unknown medical situation. When officers arrived they discovered 55-year-old Sherrie Shaw deceased in the residence. According to information from the Sherriff's office, on April 15, 2021, deputies encountered a vehicle in the parking lot of the satellite Sheriff’s Office in Archdale. The female driver, who police identified as Stephanie Kay Shackleford, was yelling and appeared to be impaired. The passenger, whom police identified as Jason Wayne Moss, was found to have a warrant for Failure to Appear on charges of Obtaining Property by False Pretense and Misdemeanor Larceny and was placed under arrest. ASHEBORO NC - A man is facing charges after police say they found him passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle with a gun in his lap. According to information posted by the Randolph County Sherriff's Office, on April 12, 2021, the deputies responded to assist troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol in reference to a male driver who was passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle in the area of US HWY 311 in Sophia.When officers arrived they say the found the man passed out behind the wheel with a firearm in his lap. Investigators with the Randolph County Sheriffs Office and Asheboro Police Department investigate a fatal shooting on Plummer St overnight. (Scott Pelkey / Acme News) ASHEBORO NC (ACME NEWS) - On Saturday, April 3, 2021, Randolph County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a shooting on Plummer Street in Asheboro. The arriving officers found three subjects at the home, all with gunshot wounds. According to a statement by the Randolph County Sherriff's Office, 27-year old Robert Lewis Spencer was pronounced dead at the scene. According to a press release from the Asheboro Police Department on Saturday, April 3rd, 2021, at around 1:42 PM, a 31-year-old female was kidnapped at gunpoint while sitting in a vehicle on Coleridge Rd in Asheboro. ASHEBORO NC - The Randolph County Sheriff's Office is asking for help locating a suspect wanted in connection to a murder. According to a press release on Saturday, April 3, 2021, deputies received a call about a stabbing at 219 Emmanuel Church Road in Asheboro. The deputies arrived and located Harold Stephen King who was deceased inside the residence. The press releases says an investigation led them to a suspect identified as Brian Cody King, who deputies believe had stabbed the victim and then left with a female. According to a press release by the Randolph County Sherriff's Office on March 11th, 2021, deputies with the Sherriff's Offices Highway Criminal Interdiction Team pulled over a vehicle on I-85 in Trinity that was registered out of Texas. At some point during the stop, deputies searched the vehicle and say they discovered approximately 2,376.5 grams (5.2 pounds) of Cocaine and US Currency. According to a press release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on March 10th, 2021, deputies were called to the area of Robbins Country Rd. in Trinity to check on someone.They located a man sitting on the front porch of the residence who was police say was apparently impaired by an unknown substance and unable to provide his name.
