N.C. Department of Transportation crews across eastern and central North Carolina have been working hard to treat and plow roads impacted by the third storm of 2022. ASHEBORO N.C. - Overnight a winter weather system dropped 1-2.5 inches of snow across Randolph County and wreaked havoc on roadways. The snow combined with already wet roads and overnight lows that dipped down below 10 degrees created treacherous driving conditions. In Moore county the Sandhills Sentinel reported several vehicles overturned including a NCDOT snow plow and a FEDEX delivery van. Here in Randolph County impacts have been minimal. Percriptitation was almost all snow with very little in the way of sleet or freezing rain. Unlike the last snow storm this one left several inches of alight powdery snow perfect for building a snowman . Crews were clearing roads as soon as snowfall stopped at 4am. ASHEBORO N.C. (ACME NEWS) - Two people had to be airlifted from Randolph Hospital overnight following a Shooting on Cedar Falls Rd in Asheboro. According to a press release from the Asheboro Police Department, last night at around 11:40pm officers from the Asheboro Police Department were dispatched to 1012 Cedar Falls Road in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived they located a male victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound in a small building behind the residence. The male who police identified as 29-year-old Randy Christopher Brower of Kernersville was taken to Randolph Hospital by Randolph County EMS. ASHEBORO N.C. - A suspect has been arrested and charged with Felony Second Degree Murder in connection with a fatal shooting in Randleman on Jan 8th. Tonight the Randolph County Sheriff's Office announced in a press release that they arrested 19-year-old Alexandre Osorio Carbajal (who also goes by the alias Alexander Hernandez). They say Carbajal arrose as a suspect as they investigated the January 8th shooting in Randleman that killed 20-year-old Daniel Lopez Vences.
