ASHEBORO N.C. - The Grand Jury has indicted a local man for multiple felonies involving sexual crimes with a minor. On December 29, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding allegations of sexual offenses involving minors. Following an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, charges were sought against Christopher Lee Clark for two counts of felony indecent liberties with a child, two counts felony disseminate obscenity, six counts felony first degree statutory sex offense, and misdemeanor assault on a child under 12 years of age. ASHEBORO N.C. - A man from Bunnlevel is facing multiple felony charges after being charged with stealing 1,000 gallons of gasoline from a local gas station. On July 9, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Handy Hugo gas station on Hwy 64 East in Asheboro in reference to a possible larceny/theft of fuel in progress. ASHEBORO N.C. - A local man who is currently in jail charged with first degree murder related to child abuse was recently indicted by the Grand Jury in connection with a 2011 child abuse case. According to a press release from the Randolph County Sheriff's Office, during the June session of Grand Jury, a true bill of indictment was issued for the arrest of Billy Ray Newsome, III, for felony child abuse-inflicting serious bodily injury. The Sheriff's office says the indictment stems from a 2011 child abuse case investigated by the Sheriff’s Office's Criminal Investigations Division where Newsome was charged in 2012 for assaulting a seven-month-old child; but, the case was dismissed in 2013 for lack of evidence. According to a press release from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office on May 29th 2022, they received a report of sexual offense allegations against Adam David Duncan. Between May 29th and May 30th 2022 at least 2 former students posted screenshots on Facebook of messages they say they had received from Duncan, both when they were still students as well as recently. In a press release the Randolph County Sheriff's Office says that on June 14th, 2022 a Sargent with the department's patrol division went to a home on Sandalwood Dr. in Denton to serve a criminal summons for livestock running at large on Melina Kay Robinson. According to a press release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, On May 29, 2021, deputies responded to a report of a prowler in the area of Post Rd in Tabernacle. A homeowner had called 911 to report a possible prowler and told police that a man was trespassing on their property and was told to leave.   After calling 911 the homeowner noticed the interior lights to their vehicle were on and went to check it out. ASHEBORO NC - On April 29th, 2021, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Highway Criminal Interdiction Team says they pulled over a vehicle on I-74 near Archdale. When officers searched the vehicle they say they located cocaine.Two individuals were arrested and transported to Randolph County Jail where the magistrate found probable cause for charges. Cierra Storm White was charged with Felony Possession of Cocaine and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana up to ½ oz.
