During his time here, he has done many great things for our agency. A few of the things he has done has been taking on the training officer role, assisted in implementing updated and efficient response plans, and investing a lot of time into getting Rescue 43 ready and in service. ASHEBORO N.C. - Forecasters with the National Weather Service in Raleigh have issued a hazardous weather outlook warning of possible severe thunderstorms, strong winds, and localized flooding for Wednesday. Almost all of central North Carolina including the Triad was placed under a level 2 "slight risk" by the Storm Prediction Center. Meteorologist say Wednesday afternoon, likely around 3 pm, is when they expect to see the greatest threat of severe weather. Man Arrested After Police Say He Traveled To Ramseur To Buy Sex From Minor

ASHEBORO N.C. - Police arrested a man after they say he traveled to Ramseur to meet a juvenile with the intent to trade money for sex. On February 24, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Team took a report of child sexual solicitation. In a press release they identified the perpetrator as Timothy James Norton of Siler City, NC. Norton was arrested after police say he traveled to Ramseur to meet a juvenile with the intentions of exchanging money for sex. ASHEBORO N.C. - A wanted suspect who led police on a vehicle chase near Ramseur in which they crashed into a camper before getting away was arrested by the Criminal Apprehension Team this week. On February 3, 2022, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Deputy on patrol saw a vehicle at a gas station outside of Ramseur that they knew was driven by Randall Ray Burgess, who had outstanding Orders for Arrest. Police say when the approached the vehicle, Burgess attempted to drive away onto Lee Layne Rd. The deputy attempted to pull the vehicle over for a traffic stop but police say Burgess refused to stop and led police on a pursuit. ASHEBORO N.C. - Emergency crews responded to the Ramseur Quik Chek after getting calls that part of the roof over the diesel pumps had collapsed Sunday. On Sunday evening just before 6pm, emergency crews with the Ramseur Fire Department along with Ash-Rand Rescue were called to a roof collapse at the Ramseur Quik Chek. According to officials from the Ramseur Fire Department they arrived to find that a small portion of the awning was over the diesel pumps had collapse, resulting in minimal damage. The business was closed at the time and no injuries were reported. Crews said they did not see any indications of any disrepair or weakness to the awning and said the collapse may have been due to the weight of the ice and water.

Now, just hours before snow and sleet are set to start, new forecasts are changing the amount of snow and ice we can expect, with warnings of widespread power outages and treacherous travel conditions. WINTER STORM WARNING At 3am this morning, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Raleigh upgraded the Winter Storm Watch for our area to a Winter Storm Warning, starting at midnight tonight. ASHEBORO N.C. —A man wanted by the state of New York couldn’t seem to remember his name when asked by police or the judge. Now he’s in jail facing awaiting extradition. On December 13, 2021, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Office deputy pulled over a vehicle on US Highway 64 East in Ramseur. The driver gave police a fake name before being identified as Daniel Darnell Hunter. Deputies called officers with Ramseur Police Department to assist and when they searched the car police say they found marijuana and US currency. The subject was transported to the Randolph County Jail. There the suspects name of Daniel Darnell Hunter was linked to an alias of Julian Giavanni Johnson.
