RANDLEMAN N.C. - A bicyclist was airlifted in critical condition this evening after being struck while crossing the street in front of Sir Pizza in Randleman. According to officials on the scene at 6:42 pm Randolph County 911 dispatched the Randleman Police and Fire Departments along with Randolph County EMS to 413 S Main St. A 911 caller reported a bicyclist who was crossing the street was struck by a vehicle. Randleman firefighters arrived on scene at 6:45 pm, just 3 minutes after they were dispatched, and the victim was transported to the practice field located behind Randleman High School where UNC Air Care landed to pick up the patient. ASHEBORO N.C. - Three people were recently charged in connection with a violent home invasion and robbery in Randleman that took place earlier this year. According to the the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on February 13th, 2022, they responded to a reported home invasion, robbery and assault on WOW Rd., in Randleman. The victim told police two males entered the home, held her down, and sprayed her with pepper spray. Another victim, a male reported that woke up to a male suspect standing over him, before he was also assaulted. The suspects stole items from the home and fled the scene in a white truck. According to a press release, on June 4th, 2022, at 7:30 pm, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office says it received a report of threatening statements made towards Randleman High School on social media. The Department brought in investigators from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit who were able to identify the address where the messages were sent. ASHEBORO N.C. - The Randolph County Sheriff's Office announced that an investigation into meth distribution in Randleman led to them seizing a large quantity of drugs and charging a local man with multiple counts of felony trafficking. According to a press release, on May 10th 2022, detectives, along with the Criminal Interdiction Team, executed a search warrant at a home on Cecil Norman Rd. in Randleman. According to the Sheriff's Office during that search warrant detectives located and seized approximately 315.5 grams of Heroin, approximately 2,101.1 grams (4.6 pounds) of Methamphetamine, approximately 74.8 grams of Cocaine, approximately 338 grams of Marijuana and approximately 10.3 grams of Mushrooms. ASHEBORO N.C. - A suspect arrested after a family fight where he tried to assault the victims with a knife was arrested just 4 hours later when he returned to the home and threatened the victims with a gun. According to a press release from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, On April 10th, 2022, at around 7:00 pm, deputies responded to Acts Temple Dr. in Randleman for a call about a family fight in progress. When police arrived they say victims and witnesses reported that Ricky Shannon Housand had tried to assault the victim with a knife. ASHEBORO N.C. - Forecasters with the National Weather Service in Raleigh have issued a hazardous weather outlook warning of possible severe thunderstorms, strong winds, and localized flooding for Wednesday. Almost all of central North Carolina including the Triad was placed under a level 2 "slight risk" by the Storm Prediction Center. Meteorologist say Wednesday afternoon, likely around 3 pm, is when they expect to see the greatest threat of severe weather. ASHEBORO N.C. - Fire investigators are taking a look at yesterday's fire on Idelwild Dr Ext in Randleman that destroyed several buildings and over a dozen cars. On March 14th 2022, just after 6:30 pm, fire crews were dispatched to Idlewild Dr Ext for a reported fire at a junk-yard. Fire Marshal Michael Smith with the Randleman Fire Department says around 15 vehicles, two small outbuildings, one large garage, and a mobile home were all involved. Crews from Randleman, Asheboro, Sophia, Westside, and Climax Fire Departments all responded and were able to get the fire under control in around an hour and a half, but remained on scene for overhaul and clean-up for over 5 hours.
