Just before 5 p.m. Randolph County 911, dispatched an EMS unit to the intersection of N Elm St and Brewer St, in Asheboro, for a standby for a possible gunshot wound. This afternoon first responders from across Randolph County recognized the arduous work of healthcare workers with a parade around Randolph Health. At 3 p.m. on Thursday May 11th, 2023, first responders from the Asheboro Fire/Rescue Department, Westside Fire Department, Ulah, Fire Department, Randolph County EMS, Asheboro Police Department, and the Randolph County Sheriff's office drove around Randolph Hospital, lights flashing and sirens blaring. ASHEBORO NC - On March 28, 2023, at 7:00 a.m., all Randolph Health facilities will lift universal masking requirements for patients, visitors, and team members. In a press release, Randolph Health says the decision to make masks optional was made in collaboration with other regional healthcare systems, including Novant Health, Atrium Health, Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, CaroMont Health, and Cone Health. Masks were required during the COVID-19 pandemic and flu season, with this change everyone should consider their personal risk when considering masking up. According to a press release from Randolph Health, effective 7 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7th, restrictions for visitors twelve and under will be lifted at Randolph Health. Randolph Health is joining Atrium Health, Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, Novant Health, Cone Health, and CaroMont Health in lifting the restrictions at the same date and time to prevent confusion among the public and to avoid a patchwork of varying restrictions. In a press release the hospital says that "due to the decreased COVID-19 activity in the area and admission of COVID-19 patients to our inpatient areas, Randolph Health is implementing new visitation guidelines beginning on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 7 a.m." New Visitation Guidelines Visiting Hours will be from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.Visitors must 12 years of age or older.Visitors should enter the hospital through the Emergency Department. ASHEBORO NC - Randolph Health has announced they will again be easing visitor restrictions at Randolph Hospital. The new visitation guidelines began on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at 7 a.m. This is the second time this year that Randolph Health has scaled back restrictions put in place since it began to accept low-level COVID-19 patients in December of last year.  The new guidelines extend the number of hours visitors are allowed, increase the number of visitors allowed at one time, and add new rules for maternity patients.
