Liberty Man Arrested On Trafficking Charges

ASHEBORO NC - A Liberty man was arrested in a parking lot in Staley on drug trafficking charges. That's according to a press release by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office. They say on March 10th, 2021, the departments Vice and Narcotics Division concluded an investigation related to the distribution of Cocaine in the Liberty / Staley area. Detectives executed a search warrant at an address in Liberty. A search warrant was also executed on a vehicle that was parked at a business in Staley. During the search, detectives say they located and seized a trafficking amount of Cocaine, items of drug paraphernalia, and US Currency. DENTON NC - The Amber Alert issued for a missing 14-year-old from Davidson County has been canceled after she was located and will be returning to North Carolina after a harrowing experience. Savannah Childress, was reported missing on Feb. 11 from her home in southern Davidson County. An Amber Alert was issued on Feb 15th Investigators had discovered that Savannah was using her Davidson County Schools issued computer to communicate with an individual using multiple online platforms. As the investigation progressed investigators discovered the same individual was also talking to several other juvenile females in Alamance County. ASHEBORO NC - Officials have released the name of the victim of a fatal house fire in Denton on Thursday. According to a statement from the Randolph County Sheriff's office fire crews from Randolph and Davidson counties were called to a report of a house fire at 7026 Canaan Church Rd., in Denton. Initial reports from 911 calls indicated someone was possibly still inside the house. Fire crews arrived to find the home heavily involved with fire. According to a press release by the Randolph County Sherriff's Office on October 12th, of 2020 deputies responded to a call about a stolen Kubota tractor on Tobacco Rd. in Trinity.
